I was told by a doctor that I have a longer cervix then most women do. I remember him saying it would not affect my ability to conceive but after 4 months of trying I'm starting to wonder. Can anyone give me any advice on this? Thanks.

Has anyone ever used the Clear Blye Easy Fertility monitor, become pregnent, but not gotten a peak day? This is my second month using it, and I have not gotten a peak either month. My Dr just put me on clomid for the next cycle, but I worry that I did get high fertilty, but no peak. I need some advice, and words of wisdom. I am 23, been TTC 6 months. . . is it too soon to freak and analyze?

Basically, the parents of a severely brain damaged girl had her growth deliberately stumped so her parents could care for her at home as she is growing older. Interesting story.

Can't imagine being in that situation, so don't really know how I feel about it.

Just wanted to see what others thought. Thanks.

I had only been with them for 4 months when this happened. They put me under so much stress right before the miscarriage that I just could not manage my workload and I feel that they were greatly to blame for the miscarriage. They have used my lateness (caused by bad morning sickness) and my not completeing tasks (because 2 other people were absent and I couldnt manage my work and theirs with no help at all) as the reasons for dismissing me. But I found out by accident that my job had been advertised the week I told them I was pregnant. Can I claim unfair dismissal?

My three month old has begun crying when anyone other than her father or I hold her (or even talk to her). My mother, who we see at least once a week, can't even hold her without her crying. My husband's mother now refuses to talk to her (yes, I know this will make it worse) because she cries every time. It's so pitiful. She sticks out her bottom lip and then starts screaming. Isn't she young for this? My other two never had any problems with people, even complete strangers. Anybody else have experience or words of wisdom?

My husband and I are trying to conceive our first child and I was just wondering what it was like for you ladies when you found out you were pregnant the first time. I am starting to doubt it will ever happen and I think if it does I will be in shock! How did you feel knowing there was a person growing inside you? How connected did you feel to your child before they were born? It all seems so unreal to me even though, obviously people do it everyday.

Which do you like best?

Victoria Grace
Anna Grace
Anna Sophia
Eva Grace

(we like the middle name Grace as you can see)

Please your opinion on these names, but no terribly negative comments. I know that some people will have negative opinions on these names because of people they know, so I would not like to hear them. Thanks.

Soon I'll be going back to work as my year of mat leave will be over, but my problem is I am breastfeeding my son still (he's 7 months). He'll nurse once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once before bed. I'll be working during the day so I wont have to cut out his morning or his nighttime feeding, but I wont be able to nurse him during the day anymore. I just recently got him to drink a miniscule amount of formula as he WOULD NOT drink out of a bottle so he now will drink about 1 1/2 to 2 oz of formula out of a sippy cup. He also is eating 3 meals of solid foods a day, but I'm not sure what to do about during the day while I'm working, I know he needs to drink formula or breastmilk because nursing twice a day isn't enough, right? We're going to the doctors tomorrow and I plan on asking him, I just thought I'd ask on here because there are so many people with experience here. Also I should say that I don't own a breastpump and we already tried that, he wouldn't drink that eithe

A posting earlier today got me thinking about a rule in our house.I am a mom of seven kids five of whom live at home, they are 14,12,5,3&17months.My husband and I believe evening/night time to be an adults time for this reason our kids go to bed early.17months usually in his crib by 7.00pm,5&3 go to bed at 7.30pm.The older two are both in bed asleep by 9.30ish during the week. The rule is that once the kids have had their dinner (my husband&I eat later),bath etc.they have no t.v,phone, ipod, video game rights&we go by the saying they should be seen¬ heard(w/in reason). When all3babies are in bed my husband myself&the older2watch t.v for around an 1hr until I start moving the older kids towards bed.During this hr the 12&14yr old are expected to use an "indoor voice"&are only really asked to talk if my husband and I speak to them, its winding down time for them not a time for idle chat or hyping up.If they wake the babies they will be spanked/sent to bed.We do spend a lot of time with them

ok heres the deal my husband has a child from another relationship.we have been married 8 years and at the begining of the marriage i pushed him to play an active roll in this childs life well he didnt listen. we moved 650 miles away 5 years ago and out of sight out of mind. he doesnt write, email, text, or call this child. once a year usually around this time the mother contacts him and says some thing to the effect that she was going to come here and then they could have a meeting well out of the 5 times shes promised this never once has she done it and each year he gets all hurt. again this year she has contacted him, i told him not to get all excited because it hever has happened in the past it probably wont happen this year either. I have thought about emailing the mother and telling her not to get my husbands hopes up but have yet to do it what do you think?

My fiance and I have recently started trying for a baby and I think we may have been succesful but I dont know when I can do a test, my periods arent regular at all and sometimes I go ages without bleeding and other times it is only a few days between the bleeding.
I know they say to leave it until you have missed your period but as you have just read, this presents a problem to me. I really dont know how long to leave it, can anyone suggest anything?

I am looking for literature on VBAC & easy to understand statistics & such?? I am also looking for good books on the subject & on natural birth, know any? Thirdly can anyone reccomend exercise & nutrion tips/hints & tricks for preparing your body for pregnancy & child birth?

I had a c-section 3.5 years ago. I was induced (1 week late) w/ pitocin. I labored for about 18 hours, I pushed for 2 hours & he wouldn't come! Result: Emergency C-section. Any one know if that makes me a bad candidate for VBAC. We are making an appointment to speak witha new Dr. about our options.(My previous doc will not do VBAC!)

***So please don't tell me to talk to a doc, just personal experience & opinions ONLY, PLEASE!

I am not even pregnant yet...Just doing my homework!
