I wouldnt say that baby hates him, at 5 months they are not capable of hating anything (apart from late dinners!)
My baby at 5 months took a disliking out of the blue to men with breard, they scared her, I dont know why, she had been around them up till then, but as fast as the fear came it went again.
Now she gets stressed when people talk to her in a certain cutesy high pitched tone, perhaps its something as simple as that thats upsetting baby.
Baby will eventually get over it, just make sure number one son realises its not his fault, just explain it to him.

a 5 month old is incapable of hating anyone. he is probably afraid of your older son. have your 3 year old be a little more gentle with the baby so the baby isn't scared when big brother comes around.

There has to be a reason your 5 month old is afraid of your 3 year old. Ask your 3 year old if he did something to his brother to make him scared or if he knows why his brother acts that way around him.

This is perfectly normal. I remeber my Child once hated my husband for the longest time. Now she never wants to stay away from him. If anything i would try to take your youngest and leave him with the oldest. Let them spend time together. Most likely everything should go upward. Just tell your oldest what your youngest likes the most. Try to make him laugh. THat may help. Best of luck!

I don't think a 5 month old has the capability to hate just yet. Maybe your 3 year old startles him or gets a bit over zealous with his attentions to the 5 month old.

I would watch the body language that is going on...is there something about your 3yo son's behavior that is scaring your baby?
Maybe, even though he just wants to give him attention, he is TOO attentive, and that overwhelms the little one.
I don't think that a 5 month old would just "decide" that he doesn't like his brother; there must be something else going on.
Be a detective...good luck!

I don't think babies are capable of hate, but he is probably scared of his big brother for some reason. Baby's fears aren't always rational to adults. For now don't force the issue, as your baby gets older he'll want to be around his big brother, and will look up to him and want to be like him.

I haven't heard of that.. can't think of a reason.. maybe he is scared because he accidently got hurt by him/... at 5 months he wouldn't know it is an accident
