My husband and I found out in June. We were planning on waiting another year but, somehow it happened sooner! I was shocked and happy and sad and every feeling I could have ran through me all at once for about 20 minutes and I have been walking on the clouds ever since. I am almost 34 weeks and since the time we found out we have talked to sang to and spent many hours with the belly. Now, we are having a boy so we call him by his name and talk to him like he is here. So yeah, there is a huge bond there. I am getting pokes and kicks and I love evey minute of it. Even when it hurts!

I found out at the end of July and I was shocked and scared at the same time. I was only two days late but my breasts were sore so I thought I'd check just in case. I was terrified when it came back positive and then had to tell my boyfriend. Neither of us were planning and I wasn't sure how he would take it. He took it better than I did :). I don't think it really settled in for either of us though until that first sonogram and we saw the baby moving around. I was so excited and happy and scared all at once. Talk about emotional overload :). I'm 28 wks along now and just really started feeling the baby move and kick last month, but it's great. I'm having a girl and she has a habit of making my bladder her own personal kickball, but I don't mind. It's a reminder of the little one I'm soon to be holding in my arms and I can't wait. Don't give up hope if it doesn't happen right away for you and your husband. Good luck.

Well to find out terrified me at first (i am 19 and not very rich...) but my husband assured me everything would be okay and then I became more excited about this than anything else ever. This feeling is like ten times the feelings i had when i was getting my hair and makeup done right before my wedding (which was a very nervous and exciting time for me) and now at 17 1/2 weeks i feel unbelieveably connected to this little person... which i saw in the sonogram today.
I wish you the best of luck in creating your little one- the best thing i think i can tell you is no to try too hard.

I was in so much shock that I rubbed my eyes and cleaned my glasses to make sure that I was in fact looking at the positive test. For the rest of the day, I couldn't stop staring at my tummy and thinking "I've got a baby in there". The pregnancy seemed a little more real when I had an ultrasound done a couple weeks later. I'm pregnant with my second child, and even when I found out with this one, I was in a ton of shock.

I was surprised (I was three months along when I found out) and then the next day in shock (but in a good way). I actually had an ultrasound the next day since I was far enough along and when I saw the baby it made all the more real for me. It's an awesome feeling--I was doubting I would get pregnant but after I stopped thinking so much about it it happened!! And it will happen for you too!! I'm 38 weeks along now and I feel very connected to the baby, we even have nicknames for him/her. Best of luck to you!!

I was pregnant the first time and miscarried and that was so sad because I did not even realize that I was pregnant until I had to go to the hospital for really bad bleeding. Then it took me seven years to conceive the secound time and it was pure Joy and excitement when I found out
You need to find a way to relax so that you can conceive because wanting it to happen puts a lot of stress on you. What I did do to try and conceive and it worked was that I stood on my head, right after sex, some women have a tilted uterous. I am one of them. This was a suggestion from an older friend of mine who also had a tilted uterous, when I went into labor it was back labor not front and that was because my uterous was tilted towards the back. So don't hesitate to stand on your head the doc told me that that was probably what did it too.

It took us 6 months to conceive! Those 6 months felt like forever. My friends tried 2 years before they conceived...Patience is very necessary...even after you conceive you wait 9.5 month for that baby!
The day I found out, I was 1 week late for my period. I took the test, fully expecting a negative answer. (For the last 6 mo. I had been mentally messing with my cycle because I kept thinking I was pregnant...I was late every month for those 6 months, like a day or 2.) Anyway when the test said positive, I had to get a second opinion, that what I was seeing was correct!! A friend of mine was staying with us for a few weeks. So I called her to the bathroom & asked, "Does this say what I think it says?"
She started screaming out of pure excitement!!! After all the commotion we sat down and just reflected on the situation... It was very hard to believe, I was actually pregnant!!! I didn't feel different or look different... I was excited, but it was as if nothing had changed. That night I told my husband, he didn't react the way I thought he would but everyone is different, he was excited too, but I think it took him a while to wrap his mind around it, after all I didn't look pregnant! Not yet anyway.
A good book was for husbands (& wives 'cause its hysterical) So, You're Going To Be A Dad by Peter Downey & Nik Scott You can get it at Amazon.com for like $12. You can read an excerpt there...Definitely check it out!!!

hi. For me I was so happy but at the same time I was terrified that something would happen to the baby or that I wouldn't know what to do. i felt love from the second i know but then again some people hate the idea - it's all down to your hormones, if you don't feel happy don't worry about it because as your bump grows, your love grows. I can still remember the very second that the midwife but my son in my arms. it is the best feeling in the world. Don't think it will never happen, just relax, and nature will do its job - it can take up to 2 years to get pregnant the first time .
good luck

I was so shocked and excited at the same time. It feels kinda weird knowing that there is someone growing inside of you but amazing at the same time. I am 4 1/2 months and I feel so connected to my baby and the more I feel her move the stronger the feeling gets. GOOD LUCK

i was overjoyed!!! it wasn't very romantic or anything when i told my husband though. i was over at his in-laws and i had finally waited till i thought my period was offically late. i went out and got a test and tried not to get my hopes up too high cause we had been trying for a few months already without success. but this time my boobs hurt quite bad and i considered that an excellent sign. well i took the test and the strip showed a + sign the second i peed on it :P i was soooooooo thrilled but of course i waited the 3 mintues to be sure than checked the instructions again. i felt like crying i was so happy and i went and told my husband who was playing a video game. ... theres nothign like the first ultrasound though. seeing the little baby jumping around in there was amazing!!!!!! good luck. i hope you get pregnant soon!
