my last period was 12/3. i went to the doctor for abdominal pain on 12/21 they drew blood and i was negative for pregnancy. I havent thought about it much until now since i havent had a period yet still.

I thought blood tests from the doctor were accurate because they actually measure the pregnancy hormone in your blood. is this true?

What if you've had to birth a miscarriage? Is anything given at that point?

whats the difference between labor/deivery/recovery suites and postpartum,mother baby rooms? arent they the same thing? my hospital has 12 of the suites and 16 pp/mother baby rooms. im confused...willi be able to have a suite? i had 1 with my daughter and the experience was beautiful,,,

People say when you are in your second trimester you feel energetic and 'blooming'.
So does this mean that
a)You feel more energetic than last trimester but more tired compared to your non pregnant state
b)You feel more energetic than you have ever felt
c)Yu feel just the same as if you weren't pregnant.

My Mom lives far away and visits every few months.
Everytime she is here we end up getting into an argument over my kids.
This time we were at the mall and I was taking my 3 yr old son up and down the escalater for fun. I made sure to hold his hand. So I tell her to do it while I run to return something at a store.
I come back and she is not holding his hand, I said "Mom hold his hand"
Mom: "I'm standing right here"
Me: "Just hold his hand"
Mom: "But it's almost done" (it wasn't, they were still half way down)
Me: "He might fall and break his head, just please hold his hand"
Mom: "But I am right here and he won't let me anyway"
Me: "So then you tell him he can't go on the escalater if he doesn't hold your hand, he always holds my hand"
Mom: "You got a lot of nerve"
Me: "No, you have a lot of nerve, I'm his mother and I am asking you to please hold his hand, he is only 3 yrs old, he could fall"
Mom: "So you are saying I don't care about my grandson"

I've looked at a few different ones online, but can't tell how stable they are. A couple of product reviews suggest certain ones flip over when the child's weight isn't perfectly centered.

Which learn-to-walk toys have you been happy with in terms of safety, stability, and fun for the child?

This is my second birth last time I had gas and air and pethedine which were both horrible and I definitely dont want an epidural. I ust wnat to do it naturally. How am I going to make the midwifes listen to me and not try to persuade me to have some, and what if I forget about it when I am in labour and end up having some drugs that I will regret because I hate the feeling they give me.

I am 15 weks pregnant with my baby, and I am wondering what items you moms out there found super handy and worth the money when you had your baby- things you couldn't live without with your baby!! If you could give me brands of items, too, I would be grateful. I am planning on nursing and pumping/bottle feeding, things like pumps, bottles, etc... I am also thinking about using cloth diapers, if anyone used them let me know what it was like... What baby products (shampoo, wipes, diapers) did you use and why? What baby monitor did you like?
I am trying to get an idea of items we will need to purchase and put on our birth registry... which will probably be at WalMart. I am in Canada, so products would have to be available here! THANKS!!

I seem to be having back labor most frequently, but also some uterine and all over contractions, also some seem to make my belly hard as a rock and sore... they are coming about 5-8 minutes apart as of last night...I have not timed them today...but I go to the doctor in 2 hours....I hope he induces me....
also the pain in my back seems to never reallly go away...

I started charting this month but didnt start at the right time,i have also got up late a few time and my temp seems very irratic up and down.But i have a celius themomiter and chart this morning it was 36.12c but my chart only goes from 36.0 to 36.9 then on to 37.0 etc.so should i just be putting this temprature on my chart as 36.1?

I am about to adopt a baby in an independent adoption. I am by no means rich, even though I have a good job. I know infant formula is way expensive, so I was wondering if anyone knows if you can apply for WIC if the baby is adopted? I live in California.

I'm 19 years old and I've been thinking about having a baby. I know it's a terribly difficult thing to do and it will change my life forever but me and my boyfriend have been talking and he wants to have a baby really bad and I kinda do also, but I'm also considering that we won't be able to go out and party really, we won't have those romantic nights alone, he needs to get a better paying job, we can't really afford a baby right now...but he's so serious I've never seen him this serious in my 5 years of going out with him. But also my parents want us to get married before we do anything like that and URGGH I don't know what to do! help!

My daughters doctor said it was okay for my daughter to sleep in her car seat when she has a cold. Are there any other alternatives that anyone knows of to keep her elevated when she is sleeping. I didn't know if they make something for that or not? I just get worried when she sleeps in her car seat even though she is probably safe in there. Any advice for sleeping when they have a cold would be great!

I am 5 months pregnant (21 weeks on friday) and just hate waiting a whole month to go to the doctor, I always worry something will go wrong in such a long period of time. All my tests and ultra sounds have come out perfect, I am feeling her move, but I find myself worrying all the time. Anyone else feel this way?
