It's possible to be wrong if the test was taken to early...
"It takes at least 7 days after fertilization for the test to become positive. In most cases, by the time a woman has missed her period, the test will be positive if she is pregnant."
Take another test..

When a woman first becomes pregnant their hormones dont immediately change. It takes a little while for the HCG hormone to increase. All women have HCG levels in their systems already! So, it takes a little bit for them to increase. If you had your period in the beginning of Dec. Then you wouldnt have the increased levels that are detectable of pregnancy till around the beginning of Jan. And you would have conceived around the 14th - 19th of Dec. if you are pregnant.
As to what Average-guy said... I had an ectopic pregnancy just a month ago. And I asked the doctors if it would show up negative in a test if it was an ectopic pregnancy. The answer is it will show up anyways. The fetus is planted in your body and thriving. That is what makes the hormone levels elevate. As long as the fetus is still alive the levels will continue to increase no matter where it is inside the woman. Sorry average-guy, but this I know for a fact.
So, take a home test if you are still in doubt & have no period yet!

I thought that some types of pregnancies - troubled pregnancies don't always show up. Some times a fertilized egg doesn't make it down into the uterus - it lodges in the fallopian tubes. I think it's called ectopic pregnancy. Since the uterus doesn't sense a pregnancy, I think that blood tests may not properly detect this. It could cause very serious health issues for the mother, and the best way to detect it is with a sonogram.
Take into account I'm not a doctor and only a trained doctor who has examined you can diagnose you for sure. Don't believe too much in any medical advice you get online.

I know what your going through I have the same problem right now my last period was 12/2. I am now 12 days late with 2 negative urine tests one the day of my last period and one 2 days later I have to go to the doctor today for the results for my blood test. It is possible that you didn't ovulate this month, or maybe you have been under stress or a change in diet maybe. I wish you all the best and hope you get answers soon. Hang in there!

Could be too early. When I was preg w/ my first, I had terrible constipation and went to the ER where they did a pregnancy test because they wanted to do an x-ray so they wanted to be sure I wasn't pregnant. That was June 14, and the test was negative - I was due for my period about 11 days later. I then had an ultrasound for a cyst on my ovary on June 25 and we saw the gestational sacs and found out I was 4 weeks pregnant. I would say it is probably too early.

From the dates you list it sounds like the test was given at the right time.
There could be other events in your life that are disrupting your period. Stress and rapid weight loss are just two things that could effect it. If you don't get your period this month I would suggest seeing a doctor and get some blood tests done, for pregnancy (although doubtful) and to see if anything is abnormal (low iron etc...)

Almost, but it could be a rare ghost pregnancy where the body thinks it is pregnant, mimics pregnancy through symptoms but isn;t.

Air head, nothing is 100% accurate. Perhaps 99.9% but there will always be a margin (how ever small) for error we are human after all.

For all the dumb asses:
A BLOOD TEST IS 100% ACCURATE ALWAYS, I DON'T CARE IF YOU CONCEIVED YESTERDAY!
IF IT SAYS NEGATIVE, THEN IT'S NEGATIVE- your symptoms could be from another source.
