I've looked at a few different ones online, but can't tell how stable they are. A couple of product reviews suggest certain ones flip over when the child's weight isn't perfectly centered.

Which learn-to-walk toys have you been happy with in terms of safety, stability, and fun for the child?

Thank you.

We have a wooden radio flyer wagon that is perfect! My son is the second child to use it. It is very stable and does not tip over. It is easy to push, and toys can ride in the wagon while your child pushes it. It is very durable. The best part is the wagon has a bumper on the front, so that when your child rams it into your furniture and walls it won't leave dents or marks!

I like the one that changes from a stand-behind walker to a little ride-on toy. My daughter loved it, and it was very sturdy. The best kind have a kind of triangle shaped base when they are open for standing (like the one described above) to provide the maximum stability to new walkers. I liked that this one also transformed, so that it could be used longer. A child generally only needs a walker for a very short time, 1-3 months before they are crusing on their own. So for me, it was about functionality and usability. We use these same walk-behind toys at the preschool that I work at for children with special needs, and they really work well for children up to 3 years who are learning to walk.

I got my daughter a little tykes shopping cart. It was very sturdy, stable and she was up and walking on her own in no time. And to this day, she's 18, she wants to always push the shopping cart in the grocery store. It also comes with pretend containers of food, quarts of milk and boxes of cereal, ie, things like that. They love it!

i have had a few..anything by Fisher Price is generally a good one. I like the ones that later can turn into a ride on toy, so you get extra use out of them..
