I have a four motnh old and I just turned twenty. For a young person though, I was well prepared. What I suggest is ASK ASK ASK, Anyone you know who has had a baby knows what you will need and what you should expect. The thing is everyone has different views and opinions thats why asking a variety of people will give you a larger range of ideas as to what you think the best way to prepare is. A newborn baby is a lot of work but maybe babysitting someone elses baby gives you a better idea than just hearing that over and over. Just don't stress, everything will work out and you will soon have a new bundle of joy!

Get everything ready before hand. That last week or so is tough to get around. Have your bags packed for the hospital.

When you come hme you are going to be exhausted for the next couple days. So if you need to prepare meals and freeze them ahead of time, or have simple things. Make sure you're drinking lots of water before and after the baby is born.

People say get lots of rest. Truth is you can store up all sorts of sleep - I was a nap-a-holic, but it really didn't help. I;m not saying strain yourself, do relax and get rest... but don't think you have to sleep all day and such... and babies do deprive you of sleep. For the first couple days at the hospital my son would sleep for hours and hours and so did I... he was so exhausted from coming into the world. So that time I got to catch up on some sleep.

Relax, trust your instincts. No one will ever know your baby as much as you will. Not only has he/she been growing inside of you, he/she will recognize your voice best of all.

Congratulations, and good luck with labor and delivery. I

Doctors usually give literature. I read every piece of literature that was given to me. Although it's helpful I wouldn't say it prepared me.
Your life is going to change dramatically. Sleep is something you will be getting only a couple of hours at a time. Everything will have to be planned around the baby. You can't just run out the door whenever you want. Getting dressed and ready to leave your home is going to take much longer now. Getting bottles ready, packing the diaper bag with all the necessities. It's going to be lots of work and you will get tired, but all the work is worth it. Watching him/her grow and seeing yourself in your child and knowing that you created this beautful baby is a great reward for all your hard work. Congratulations!!!

well i guess it all depends on when you are due... and or if you are far enough along to know what you are having... if you dont know you can always stock up on the things you WILL need no matter what the sex of the baby is... diapers... wipes... wash cloths... towels... baby lotion... etc. If you know what you are having go from there... if there is a sale on and maybe it would fit them the next year go ahead and buy it... thats what i did... and then if your early on in your pregnancy go a head and do the baby's room... do it a unisex color and that way later on if you find out what your having you can add things with blue or pink in it...

Get lots of rest you are going to need it. And save money if you can you will need alot of that too! Aloso try to have things organized when you come home so you can spend all your time on the baby and sleeping when you can, so you don't have a ton of other things to do

Have lots of rest as you won't get any afterwards! Keep fit and eat well so that you have lots of energy to look after the baby.
