Up until here recently, My 20 month old has been a VERY good eater, Eating 3 meals a day, Breakfast was usually cereal and milk, Lunch, a hot dog, or home cooked chicken nuggets and maybe chips..And dinner, a vegetable, meat & usually potato's or french fries...He was also snacking inbetween meals, NOW, I am lucky to get him to eat a HALF of a hot dog, Or 2 chicken nuggets...He's not sick, We took him to the Dr, was just wondering why his appetite is slowing down..Also, Wondering if there was anything I could do to make eating 'more fun' for him??

I just had a baby 7 weeks ago, Could this have anything to do with his decrease in food consumption?

I'm pumping and bottle-feed him, so he's developing fine. It's just I relly enjoyed nursing him, tired of frustration when I try breastfeeding and feel that we are missing on developing special bond. * * If that was tething, thrush or ear infection he would have hard time taking a bottle as well, especially slow flow. If he tried breast and pulled away, I would think it's a let-down problem, but he would get hysterical the moment I offer him a breast. I pump before offering a breast, but he wouldn't even try! * * He started to refuse breasts 3-4 weeks ago (still nursing at night then). 2+ weeks ago I stopped breastfeeding for 5 days to see if his exema was related to something I ate (switched to similac alimentum, frozing pumped milk). 10 days ago he got cold, so I switched back to breast milk to help him recover. I used fast flow nipples because he had stuffy nose. His nose is not ok yet and he cough ocasionally, but he has no problem taking slow flow nipples. WHY NOT BREAST?

We have a 2 yr old and looking to move back to the Northeast US. Of course job opportunities will determine alot, but what are some areas (towns, cities) you would consider? It must have very good schools, safe, a good community feel to it, good quality of life, and access to open spaces,etc.. Any thoughts?

fear does not equal respect?

Saying, "don't hit them on the face and don't leave marks" sounds like you took it straight from the How to Abuse your Loved One Without Getting Caught manual. A little sad isn't it?

Why do soo many people stress breast feeding? I know how good it is for the baby and the benefits, but why don't people (partner, nurses, and so on) let the mom decide? Why pressure them so much?

Breast feeding is not for everyone. Not everyone is comfortable doing this. Also it is a HUGE stress on the mom. I know it was extremely difficult for me to do.

I have missed (almost) two periods...had one in the beginning of November (regular), none in December and none to date yet. I have been feeling somewhat ill at night just as I'm laying down to go to bed for about a half hour, but feel great in the morning so it's not morning sickness. I haven't gotten sick, just the feeling in my tummy. My breasts aren't sore and haven't enlarged, I have no other pain...other than headaches that I usually only get when my back is sore (which it's not). Could this be pregnancy? I am wondering if it is too early to test as well? I have taken tests before on the thought I might be and they always come out negative and right after I get my period. If I can remember though this is the longest stretch with out a period that I have gone through in about 2 years...I am a fairly regular woman unless I am going through a great deal of stress (then my body has a mind of it's own)! I have no stress at all right now...hummm?? Help girls!

I have heard this is true. For example, a girl gets pregnant, doesn't know it, and her period is say 17 days late and it's actually a miscarriage. Maybe just heavier than normal. Would there obviously be something different and alarming about this "period", or would it be just like any other, esp. since it is so early in pregnancy? The reason why I ask is because I had unprotected sex twice after a couple of weeks or so of being overdue for my depo-provera shot, and my period came a month and a half later, it was about 2 weeks late, and I thought I possibly I was pregnant, though with no symptoms other than sore breasts. Hypothetically, could this be a miscarriage? Even though it's not incredibly painful or heavy? Would I be able to tell the difference between an early miscarriage (if I didn't know I was pregnant) and a normal period?

My son is ate this stage in his eating where he only eats noodles. Mac and cheese, spaghetti, Ramen noodles, ANY noodle. But not much else which concerns me. The only veggie he will eat is corn and the only fruit he will eat is applesauce, no raw veggies and no fresh fruit. I have tried to blend them in foods, hide them in food, everything and he will put it his mouth and them spit it out all over the table. I hate to push it on him and make him hate them even more and I hate wasting all that food too. Any ideas on how to introduce more healthy choices? Or should I write it off as a stage and try at a later time?

I am a nanny for 2 boys, 3 & 1.5. Recently, thier parents have tried to start potty training on the older child, to no avail. They have switched him from diapers to pull-ups (aren't they the same thing to him?). He doesn't care when his pull-ups are wet/dirty, will play in them that way all day if you let him. And he parrots everything you say, so if you ask him if he needs to go or if he's wet, he just repeats the question and then ignores you.
They think he wouldn't care if he was left to run around naked, but I thought that regular undies and a plastic cover might help. Make it less pleasant to be wet or dirty since the pull-up absorbs everything away from the skin.

My husband and I are TTC... I have a bicornuate uterus and I know that I can still concieve... I keep hearing everyone talk about taking folic acid while trying to concieve, Does this increase the odds? And what about the prenatals? I know its important to take them to have all the nutrients and what not but I tried taking those and they created a whole line of problems for me such as a terrible yeast infection...(every girl hates those) so does folic acid help and what to do about the prenatals?

I am not pregnant but I have taken two preg. tests, one last month and one a week ago, and they were both negative, is it safe to say that i am not preg? my bestfriend insists that i am but i told her that i have been getting my monthly right on time and i know that you can have it while preg. but its not as common. people insist that i am preg but the tests are neg. my boyfriend insists that i am too, but i think he says that because he wants a baby. i dont want to keep wasting my money on tests when they all come out negative and i want to end this chatter about me being preggo.
