I like the bright red. I have a baby girl and we got a red stroller. It is perfect for when hubby and I split up in a public place and then meet back later. You can't miss the red. Also, if you have a boy next time around, you can still use it without feeling like you need a different color. Make sure the stroller fits in your car. It looks really nice but if it is heavy or huge, you may not use it often.

Those round cribs are ridiculously expensive and the round sheets are hard to find. Get a normal crib and save the extra money for her college fund or some household help in the first few weeks after the baby comes. Some cribs have a drawer on the bottom to hold extra clothing. Stay away from the canopies. They hold dust and babies can get very allergic to that.

I really like the clothing at Target or the Carters brand. If you are looking for something more upscale, Nordstrom has nice children's clothes as well. Look for 100% cotton. Anything with Polyester in it will pill and look old after only a few wearings. Don't get sucked into the special baby laundry detergent either. That stuff has so much perfume in it that your baby could get a rash on her skin. Stick to an unscented detergent so her clothing won't irritate her delicate skin.

Only get a few things in the 0-3 month size. You want most of the clothing to be the 6-9 month or 12 month size. Your baby will grow very quickly. For the first few months, the 0-3 months, maybe 2 special outfits, but the rest should be easy on and off stuff for frequent diaper changes. Sometimes you need to change a diaper every hour! I tend to like the side snap shirts in the infant 0-3 size and a sleeper over that. It doesn't interfere with their belly button stump. I would say that for the 0-3 month size, 4-6 sleepers and 4-6 side snap shirts and perhaps 3 onesies is optimum if you do laundry a few times a week. Look for booties and not socks if you want to cover her feet while she is not in a sleeper with feet. Socks fall off very easily and you'll have plenty to do without searching for missing socks. Better yet if you have a summer baby, skip the socks. Naked toes are okay in warm weather.

To wash the clothing, it is okay to put it in with your light colored clothing and wash on cold. I use a lingerie bag for baby's clothing so her super small stuff doesn't get lost in the mostly adult load.

That is what works for me.

I'm also having a little girl. We got a green/cream stroller. That way if "she" comes out a "he" we're still covered. Also, it can be used with future children (this is our first).

The round cribs usually have a lower weight limit than the regular ones, so they cannot be used as long. You will be able to use it longer if it is a normal crib. The ones I have looked at also will not fit through doorways, so they have to be taken apart to be moved (not sure if a normal crib is the same).

I have gotten some really good used baby clothes on ebay. Also, try your local Goodwill or other thrift store for baby clothes. I was able to find some that were brand new, and the rest look almost unworn. Goodwill has 50% off days and I can get baby clothes for 75 cents a piece.

Congrats on your new little one!

I would get the baby Irene Four poster Cradle if I bought from that site, or a sleigh bed, so you can reuse for either a boy or girl if you need to later. I would get the pink stroller unless you will want to use it for future babies, and then I would get the red stroller. A great color for a boy or girl. I did a lot of baby shopping at JcPenneys and Sears. I also shopped at the Childrens Place, and the Baby Gap. I did shop at Wal-Mart for sleepers and some outfits for days we were just hanging out at home, no need to ruin an expensive outfit. I kept those for when we were out and about. I also love Babies R Us for all baby stuff; clothes, strollers, cribs, bed sets, anything a baby needs.

I would say yes to the pink stroller and no to the round crib.

I purchased the round crib when I had my daughter and it was about $1400 not including the custom bedding but it was such a waste of money. I didn't like the bedding and it was just not a good choice. I prefer a sleigh bed crib for a girl.

Good Luck!

I like the red stroller, its bright and if you have a boy later on it would still work. I would go for the normal rectangle crib. Baby clothes websites: babygap.com, gymboree.com, babycenterstore.com

I would get a neutral color stroller - this baby is a girl, but maybe you will have a boy later, and you don't want to have to buy everything again!

I would go with a normal crib - easier to fit in the room, and easier to find sheets for.

I get my baby clothes at Target (you can go to target.com) they have the CUTEST collection of classic winnie the pooh clothes!

i've got surely in no way heard of it...why have a shower for grandma? So she would be in a position to get stuff for her place? You and you sis can only provide her the extras out of your showers. in case you opt for to do some thing specific on your mom attempt having a weekend get away for only you ladies and your mom or as a replace of calling it a grandma bathe...make it a luncheon.
