Pregnancy & Parenting - 29 December 2006

I went off the pill starting Dec. 10th, my period started the 14th, lasted till the 19th. .I'm not sure when my ovulation was supposed to be, but we've had sex most days since my period was over. For the last about 5 days, I've been really tired in the afternoons(fell asleep on the couch every day for the last 3 days), I've had headaches and been a little nauseus off and on, but not actually throwing up. Wishful thinking or could I be pregnant already?

i am pregnant with my first child, baby isnt due till next year but already there are problems, i cant stand my mother in law, and i dont see why she should be watching the birth. My boyfriend thinks i am out of order, but i want him and my mother there.

i dont see why she should expect to watch me give birth. and my boyfriend is being really horrible and is saying its either him or my mum.

who did u have at your birth? and am i being out of order? i need my mums support and assumed that would be ok. please help.

Last night after i got off the phone with my man I had a panic attack and I had to go to the hospital. I am not pregnant yet, but am trying, and actually think I could be.(or not it's not confirmed). They did blood work last night and said that if I was HCG was still not high enough for it to be detected. I had almost dehydrated from throwing up and crying. I know this is very stressful. and i still don't feel well this morning. i feel very tired and sick to my stomach. I hope this wont hurt me

How likely is it for a women to get pregnant from a guy that is a heavy smoker of cigarrettes, smokes marijuana sometimes, does coke sometimes, and drinks heavily and is age 26? Assumung this guy didn't ejaculate during the one minute of unprotected penetration? Don't jump to conclusions on this one as I am asking for a close friend of mine that was not thinking clearly.Please be nice, I want facts here, not judgments.Thank you!

I have been a pretty heavy pot-smoker since I was about 18 years old, and I am now 26, expecting my first child. As soon as I went to the doc and was confirmed that I was preg, I quit smoking weed. So far, so good. I have been craving it, but not that bad.
The nurse told me that "there is no proven problems with smoking weed during pregnancy - but it is not reccomended."
That to me, is on the confusing side. If there are no known negative effects, why is it not reccomended?
I was wondering if anyone out there has any additional "real-life" info/experience on this subject. My mom smoked a light amount of pot when she was preg with me and I have no health problems whatsoever. Was I just lucky? What could have happened?
Just curious.

Ok my two year old girl is still in her crib and not potty trained. Lately (the other day) she JUMPED out of her crib and hurt herself....what are good mehtods to switch to a toddler bed? Any advice? Also I need some advice on potty training her she wont use it just kicks and screams....she does like to flush though. Any advice? Please HELP!!

i was just wondering if someone can give me some ideals of when i should give my 1 month old naps and stuff. right now he is not sleeping at all except at night and all day he is crying and wants to be held. i think it is cause he is not sleeping so i was wondering when i should give him naps and and other things during the day. i dont know much about schedulas for one months olds so i was looking for a good schedula you guys might have your little one. cause i know he needs more sleep then what he is getting but he wont sleep. i do know that i want him to go to bed at 9pm cause that is what time we go to bed and thats also the time that he eats. thank you very much.

I went to the Dr. yesteday after calling that morning and asking for a blood test and telling the nurse that only the early tests like first response and clear blue were coming up positive. I sat in this room for 2 hours before the doctor came in. He told that the urine test was negative so I explained to him how sensitive the test had to be. I asked him how sensitive they're tests were. He didn't know. I told him that my breast size had doubled and he examined them for cancer! Without another female in the room. He wasted too much time and the lab was closed when I demanded a blood test. Why would I have 2 positive HPT's and a negative one at the doctors?? And why would he need to feel my nipple during an exam? I did the urine test after 5pm there. With all the water I drink and the fact I pee every ten minutes why would he do that?? I'm so confused...

What is with the obsession with switching to cow's milk?
Ok maybe I am missing something because I breastfeed.

Generally you continue to breastfeed until breast milk is no longer the major source of nutrition for your child. If you do nothing this will be between the ages of 2-3. If you are actively trying to wean and start really pushing solids you can force a toddler to wean around 18 months.

However the goal of weaning is to stop drinking breast milk and start eating a balanced diet of solids.

Why do formula fed parents want to replace formula with cow's milk? Cow's milk isn't as nutritious as formula. It should not make up the bulk of anyone's diet young or old. (Unless you happen to be a baby cow). Don't get me wrong, I like my milk. However, I realize that it isn't necessary for human nutrition.

So what is with all of the "My baby is 12 months and one day old can I give her cow's milk already?" questions? If you want to wean, wean. But switching to cow's milk isn't weaning,

it seems like an impossible task to have their rooms clean from day to day, I don't know how to make them take pride in what they have. I have set the example by keeping everything in my home clean, and put away..you know the old saying "everything has its place....." am I being to harsh, am I expecting too much of them?

I was just wondering if you have to be 20 weeks for them to do the "major" ultrasound. I have an appointment on jan 3rd with my reg OB, ill be 15.4 weeks and i want to know the sex of the baby before Feb 3rd, so i was wondering if i requested the ultrasound to be when im between 18-19 weeks if they will do it then or make me wait? What does it mean when you lose your mucus plug? Does it mean something is happening? I'm 18 weeks and had a car accident day before yesterday, this morning I lost my plug, I know that's what it was but I've never had it happen this early. I have a doctors appointment in about half an hour. Is it possible to carry the baby to term without a mucus plug?

Ok last month i was two weeks late for my period all tests came back negative (4 urine 2 blood) then i started having some vaginal bleeding but it wasn't like a normal period it was more of spotting. Then this month i was 9 days late for my period counting 28 days after i had any vaginal bleeding. So on Christmas i took a pregnancy test it came back positive then i waited a day or two and took another one also came back positive. So i could be either 5 weeks or 12 weeks pregnant and i have no symptoms. When i was pregnant with my daughter i had a gut feeling i was pregnant before i even took a test and then once i knew i was sick all through my pregnancy between morning sickness for the first 5 months and then i had a bad cold the rest of the time. this time no symptoms but i do get cramps in my stomach not my uteris. So can sombody please explain what it is going on. I would greatly appriciate it. O and i have had 3 previous misscarriges before my 1st child this will be my 2nd child

I am a single mom with 1 son who is 13. Ever since the winter came around I felt he had dry skin on his entire body. Where we live the snow is packed and its very cold it, so thats probably what caused the dry skin. His skin almost feels like sandpaper its so bad.

I knew I had to get lotion, so I got Nivea Body lotion, its a new bottle easy to use and it is supposed to break down bad dry skin.

I give him short baths, and I tell him he has to apply lotion on his entire body after his bath right away. I only rub lotion on his back where he cant reach it.

But I noticed that the bottle of lotion is still just about full besides when I do his back, and his dry skin is still excatly the same and I found out he is obviously not even using lotion, his back has improved a little beacuse thats where I did it my self.

The next time I lotioned him head to toe and I thought after that he would want to do it him self. I don't know what to do anymore, please what I am to do?
