My son was born 16 days before his due date but I knew exactly when he was conceived. Babies come when they want, not on the Drs predicted schedule. That is a close estimate but its hardly right on...

The way to calculate is minus 7 days and nine months. so your last period would have been the 13 march and your baby would have been conceived around the 18 -25 march.
The scan estimates of the size of the baby to give you a rough idea, they give you 10 days either way.
My lmp was 22 sept 06 which would work out at 29 June, but my scan said 2 July, babies just come when they are ready.

Your baby was born right on time. The doctor's always give a 40 Week due date. A baby is usually born between 37 - 40 weeks. Your baby was probably conceived somewhere between the beginning or middle of March

Just because the doctor told you you were due on the 20th doesn't make it so. Doctors cannot possibly know the exact date your baby should be born because they are not in your home when your having sex. If you can count backwards from 12 which is the month of December to 3 which is the month of March which is 9 months before giving birth then you can figure out when in the month of March you concieved. Doctors are not perfect and in determining due dates they give you their best educated guess!

The original date you conceived is probably correct. Although its said pregnancy is 40 weeks, everyone is different. My first daughter was due 12th November and was born on 30th October. I used to say she was early and nearly 2 weeks premature but its not looked at like that. The midwifes say women normal go 2weeks either side of the EDD.
Congrats xx

I dont know about the rest of the people on here. But usually if you count backwards 9 months you will find the date people would know if they were concieved during a certain event. So if a baby was concieved on January 1rst then the approx. birthdate would be Oct. 1rst Which means that mommy and daddy got some for new years.. lol. Same thing if you use a parents birthdate, 9 of 10 times it could be their birthday or anniversary.

Date of birth doesn't affect date of conception. You conceived when you conceived and either the calculation was off or your baby was born at 38 weeks 6 days gestational age. Either way it doesn't make a difference since she was born full term.

Doesn't mean a thing - all babies can arrive up to 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late and it would all be completely normal
