My son is 26 months and my daughter is 8 months. She was playing softly with one of the toys they both play with and he comes out of nowhere and shoves her head out of the way. He screams at her first..that's the battle cry and then charges at her. Even when I am in the room, which I am always with them he shoves her and pushes her and makes her fall on her head sometimes in the matter of 2 seconds, I try to step in and separate them and she's in the playpen, but even then she is getting hurt by him. I am putting him in time out all the time and I react quickly and tell him to be nice. Time out isn't working, and I don't want to spank him, because I have a short fuse. I find myself screaming at him telling him to stop all the time, and I hate screaming and constantly putting him in timeout. When she touches his toys he gets very rude. I'm pulling my hair out, and it's crying constantly 24/7 What do I do to make it effective to get him to stop hitting her?

We have been friends since we were 7. I love her family dearly but fear for my own family now. I try to avoid as many situtations as I can but we are like family and invited to many of the same things. I won't put my 1 year old down when her children are loose because I am yelling at them non-stop to put him down, not push, hit or take things away from him. After a short visit with them my 3 year old act just like them for days after the visit. Its terrible. She hates confrontation and whenever I try and talk to her, she crys. Help!

See, I am very attracted to her and not just because she is physically smokin', but also because she is intellectual. A few months ago I asked her if we were together because the relationship had been kind of tentative up until that point. she said "of couse we are" and so I took it at that. Well now she and i have a few mutual friends whom I started talking to about our relationship, and they were like, "Wait you're her boyfriend?". They then talked to her about it and she denied ever being in a relationship with me. But when she talks to me she acts as if nothing has happened. So what should I do? Should I confront her? Should I break up with her? Help!!!!

My daughter, who is four months old, continually pulls her soother out of her mouth, or can't seem to suck on it in a way that keeps it in her face! Now, this wouldn't be so bad, only she wants to suck on it! I know young babies don't have great hand control, but it's frustrating to watch, and she cries when she yanks it out. Other times, she sucking away on it like crazy, and I think her tongue pushes it out her mouth. What's going on? Has this happened to anyone else? She's furious when it happens, and I'm getting pretty tired of plunking it back in all the time to calm her down. Help!

I guess more less..I know birth control itself doesn't effect the results of a test. However, I know with most tests you actually have to miss the first day of your period..in order to test accurately. That or have actually had your period pass I suppose (considering some as myself have had periods during pregnancy) before testing accurately. So I guess I am wondering if I have the thought that I could be..but its not quite time for my "regulated period" because of birth control would a test even be accurate yet? Or should I wait? I guess also what I am getting at..is in the past I have had my period during pregnancy but wasn't always on birth control at the time of that pregnancy. So if I am pregnant however continued my birth control pills would my period still come on its regular week or not?

I'm only 23, not married, but talking about it with my boyfriend. He just started working in the real world as an attorney is very nicely compensated. We bought a house and the wedding conversations are very serious at this point. I am currently enrolled in a graduate program for human resources, and I'm "paying" for it myself (= LOTS of loans). I know it's a bit forward looking, but I do want to have children one day and I'm struggling with the choices that I am making now that might affect this. I am investing a lot of money into an education that I may not ever get a good return on. I want to be a stay at home mom if possible.
What would you do? - Stay in grad school and incur $40,000 of debt and force yourself to work OR quit grad school, get a job, starting saving big time and work up until you have your first child?
ALSO, any moms out there with an opinion on being a working mom or a stay at home mom... any advice? I'm really having a hard time with this choice.

I have a 20 month old girl who just somehow slipped at Costco and managed to bang her head (upper right side) and it swelled immediately. I put ice on it (and of course she hated it), but she seemed to be okay...I called the doctor...and checked her all night/next day to make sure she wasn't seriously injured. She had the typical swelling and bruising, but was compeltely normal. 4 days later (just now), she tripped again in the kitchen and I actually saw her fall right on her bump. She cried and seemed to be in more pain this time (since it was already swollen). I'm guessing I should take her in tomorrow, but I don't want to be overly paranoid since she seems to be fine...but at the same time, I don't want to miss something and let it get into something worse. Any suggestions?

I am 26 weeks pregnant and have been having pains in my lower abdomen. I went to the doctor last week and they checked me for contractions and they said it was not labor. My question is...Have any of you ever had Braxton Hicks contractions? What did they feel like? Also since this is my first pregnancy, I am not sure what is normal. Someone told me that pains are normal at this stage because of the muscles stretching. Is this true? Thanks for the help!!

OK i just had a baby about 2 months ago and the man i thought was the father isn't. I kind of known since day one but just went along with it anyway. I deided to tell him when the baby was born, but other people said i shouldn't had said nothing and let that man be the father. THEY told me to lie to him again and tell him i just said that becuse i was mad at him for having another girl pregant, but the only reason i think they wanted me to say that is to save face for them, becuse one of them is dating his brother. So i went along with it anyway and reversed wht i said. I feel really bad becuse i know who the real father is and i can't tell him because all of the drama. They said that my son needs a father and if he is willing to go along with it no questions ask let him be the father. So i ask did i do the right thing? But even telling him that he hasn't baught the baby anything or even called to check up on him. So would you rather have him have no dad at all then to have a half ***

For some reason. I really like babies and really want one... I took care of my cousin (whom is 4 now) since he was a newborn... I got up with him every time he woke up. I mean i pretty much raised him since the day he was born. And now i really want a child of my own. the problem is i'm only 16. yes i know i was really young when i took care of my cousin. I literally took him everywhere with me. because thats how a mother acts. and actually he calls me momma. I just don't know. I know babies are alot of work. They cost hella lot and everything. but would it be that bad to have a baby this young?

Please any advice would help!

Names that may seem cute or trendy now may not be so cute or trendy 20, 30, or 40 years from now. Furtermore, studies have shown that certain names on resumes are more likely to get someone a job iterview than other names.

OK.. I seriously think my mother in law hates my two year old. I have four kids... 2 girls (8&5) and 2 boys (2&9mo). She absolutly adores my other 3 kids.. and its very obvious. NOW.. When it comes to my 2 year old, she is forever screaming at him. Her whole facial expressions change, the tone in her voice almost gets demonic. Infact, today my 5 year old asked my why grandma is so mean to Brock (my two year old) Now, we are staying with them until the first of January as our house is getting new windows and some work on the foundation done. I dont know what to do. When I try talking to her about it she gets so mad and wont talk to me for a long time (last time it was 2 weeks) and she also treats the rest of my kids bad. Now my two year old is active.. not naughty, but he is two. He is busy... but not bad. PLEASE I need advice because I cant take this anymore. I dont know what to do!

Tonight after I said he needs to ask politely for a glass of water and not "demand", he yelled at me. Then he threw down the phone. When I went in his room to tell him nicely "that was not nice" He proceeded to start to beat me up with pillows! Without saying a word I closed the door, and left the room. He came out after me. Kicking me in my chin, screaming at me with a loud scream, then stomped off! I have grounded him, taken away priviledges I dont know what to do anymore. Help!
