We have been married for 10 years and loved our time together as just the two of us. Our little girl will be 1 in February and we cannot imagine life without her. You will be more busy, more tired, and more in-debt... but if you want a family and have the capacity to love- it is well worth the trade. As for practical advantages- research shows that truly happy people live longer and healthier than less fulfilled adults. Also, a child is a major tax deduction that won't make you rich, but will help defray the added cost of having the child.

its a very personal choice that carries a lot of responsibility. The couple should ask the question, have they spent enough time together to where it wouldn't cause a problem if another life came into the mix. There is no room to be selfish when you become a parent. The baby is the most important part of the relationship and deserves to be treated as such. The baby is innocent and never asked to be brought into a one sided world..(the mom trapped the dad or niether could be bothered to use birth control). Its a big decision. A planned birth between a married couple is the best kind.

I have two children.
We waited for 7 years before having a baby after we were married so we could have fun, travel and grow up a bit before adding a child to our life.
Having a baby is gigantic. It's fun, it's horrifying, it's joyous and frightening, it's rewarding and it will drain the life out of you at times.

Whether or not a couple should have a baby is such a personal thing. I have family members who chose not to have children and they're happy. My life has been rich and wonderful because of our children and I wouldn't change a minute of it. :)

The advantage of having a baby is that the love in your life increases by more than you can imagine. The disadvantage, you have to grow up, you have huge responsibilities, there's no more room to be selfish.

Having a baby is definitely a matter of responsibility....

It is not just the physical maturity which should prompt one to conceive (out of wedlock or otherwise), having kids is a matter of emotional maturity.

We live our life from birth upto adulthood on our terms. But there comes a stage where one has to start living for someone else. Firstly, that person is your spouse and then together, both have to live for their child(ren).

There is no compulsion to live life in this manner. But, then think about it. If you continued living life for yourself, you would never get the opportunity to make someone else truly happy, capable, strong, comfortable and all that you wish for yourself.

Ultimate truth from raising children is that there is no greater pleasure than being someone's pillar for life. These children need not be your biological ones.....they could be the kids in the streets, without parents, orphans or otherwise....giving happiness to them, seeing them smile and grow up to brighten someone elses life is a great satisfaction.

One candle lights another and yet another till the darkness is conquered and there is light everywhere...

i wouldnt have a baby because it is "fun" it can be but that wouldnt be my reason to get pregnant
i also dont like the idea of people having babies so they have someone to love them unconditionally.... that is silly ...
anyways if you want to have a baby and are stable ect ect (as in able to care for your child) then have a baby.... if not ... dont... i dont see anything wrong with being married and chooseing not to have children
the advantage of having children to me would be ... having a family... watching your children grow is amazing... the whole experience of having a child is amazing and exciting
the disavantage... well you have to give most all your time and energy and money into raising and providing for your children... ect
i love being a mommy i couldnt imagine not having my kids!

The answer to your question must come from your own heart. If you do not have much in the way of maternal feelings, that's ok, not everyone is meant to be a parent.

well, i think that pregancy is a very beautiful gift that god has given us. we are able to reproduce. i think people should take charg of that before it's too late. people should make very wise choices on when, because it might not be the right time with time and money. Good luck!
