My daughter is 16 months, she repeats almost everything I say & speaks very clearly. She repeats all her colors, body parts, & animals. Is this early or do babies usually start developing this way at this age??

Babies can speak at any different time, all children develop differently. You can always search milestones and see what your child should be around or up to, at 16 months they usually know an amount of words (around 6 I think) check out this site, but keep in mind this is just in general. ALL development is different. Buy your daughter does sound advanced

All kids are different. My daughter said about 20 words by the time she was a year old - which is A LOT for that age. My son didn't say more than 3 words until he was almost 3 years old. And, No my daughter never spoke for him. He is a smart kid, he just didn't want to talk. Now...he hardly shuts his mouth!

when a child starts talking depends on a lot of factors. My daughter was talking at 10 months but didn't walk until 16 months. Your daughter sounds as if she is right on schedule.

I have boy/girl twins that are 10 months old. They both started saying mama and dada at about 7 months old now they babble so many different words and sounds. They are starting to imitate the things that we say to them, it is so cute! The older your baby gets the more words they will learn and will be talking before you know it.Your baby is progressing fine Im sure.Good Luck!!

Both of my kids were doing the same by that age, but it varies from child to child. I believe that when moms spend a lot of time talking and reading to their children they tend to speak earlier.

I just asked a similar question yesterday. My son is 17, almost 18 months, and still not talking. Apparently girls talk earlier.

Your daughter has matured early but there is nothing wrong with that. Enjoy and cultivate her abilities.
