8 days. and here is some good advice from someone who had to throw away a lot of perfectly good breast milk. refrigerate first then freeze. if you freeze then defrost in the refrigerator, you only have 24 hours to use it however if you refrigerate for 8 days then you can still freeze it if you haven't used it yet. i was way ahead of baby then had to throw over 100 oz away!! ugh.....

It's easy to remember the rule of 4: 4 hours at the room temperature, 4 days in the fridge, and 4 months in the freezer (longer if sub-zero temperatures). That's the recommendations of Pump Connection. In some places you will find that even longer periods of time are safe, and I can tell you from my personal experience that milk left on the counter for up to 8 hours or for 6-7 days in the fridge was still good and gladly accepted by the baby. However, for extra precaution just use the Rule of 4.

One more suggestion, saving milk in the freezer for the "right" lengh of time does not guarantee that your baby will accept it. The fatty acids in the frozen milk are starting to break apart after a week or so, giving thawed milk a funky taste and smell. If your baby accepts it - grate, because despite of the taste and smell such milk is still good for the baby.

Take care!

I've read that it can be kept in the fridge up to 7 or 8 days but after about 3 mine always started to smell funky. But I probably wouldn't recommend anything longer than 5 days.

It will keep about a week in the fridge.
Print out the very handy chart below and keep it on your fridge door.

there are a kind of different solutions reckoning on which e book or author or website you visit, yet 3-5 days is a conservative estimate, and per chance longer. keep in concepts, even with the reality that, that it truly is a sparkling nutrients and prefer various sparkling ingredients, degrades with time.

A few days at most. Mine goes bad after 3, so I always freeze it right away and thaw it under warm water if I need to use it.
