1. After you clean the diaper area, make sure it is dry before you put the ointment on.
2. Let him run around naked for a half hour a day.
3. No juice- just milk/water...esp. no citrus

Don't use powder. Baby powder is finelly course rocks.

Try using neosporin with pain relief 2 x a day then desiten ointment at the same time. Change him about every 2 hours using vaseline then desiten so it will stick.

Also, it probably isn't the poop causing the rash. It is what he is eating. If you are feeding him too much veggies or fruit this causes diaper rash. Try cutting back to about half the servings then increasing as his rash decreases.

Good luck.

Here are 2 of the best suggestion I can give....and they WILL work:
1. Bath him in baking soda. Add a few tablespoons to his bath water, and let him soak.
2. Now....I know this sounds weird, but I have 6 kids, and an old lady told me about this when my son took a lot of antibiotics, and his rashes were horrific, and NOTHING would work. Ok...you have to look in the phone book and find a Feed Store. Most towns will have one close by, usually on the outskirts of town. Anyways.....you need what is called utter cream. Not the ones you buy in Wal Mart. I cannot remember the name, because my youngest is 12, I just adopted a baby & I can promise, first sign of any rash and I am going to get it, but I can tell you it is a big tube...it is school bus yellow and red. It is used to put on cows teets for the rashes they get feeding their young. One tube will last you through that child's diaper years. A little goes a LONG way. It is perfectly safe for your son, nothing in it will harm him. You can even ask your doctor. Mine laughed at first, but now he recommends it to everyone, and he used it on his own daughters.

I would consult a doctor if I was u. If nothing else you could get something for the rash. My girl had diarhea real bad once and her Doc. said to put vasiln on her but it keeps the acid poop from touching the skin and hurting it helped alot. Good luck

You have to wash very easy each time and put the diaper rash paste as you call it on , and some times you can wash them in special soap that helps , you can also give the baby plenty of water this helps them clean out their systems out .

He may have a yeast infection ( i know i know YES the boys get them too) and you have to kill it before it will go away.... theres this stuff called Nystatin you can get from the doctor, or if you use desitin make sure it has 40% Zinc Oxide... butt paste sucks, it doesnt work, i know my kid is allergic to milk, so we get these red rashes ALL the time....

make sure you change his diaper frequently, wash his bottom well each time and then put the cream on. You might also try letting him lie in a bath with baking soda a couple of times a day.

put corn meal in his diaper it will help to absorb. Diprotex works great also. If it gets bad enough take him to the doctor he might have an infection and need special ointment. My son did.

Change his diet. He's eating too much acidic food. No more orange juice until he heals. Stick to bland foods that don't irritate the digestive tract. Ask your doctor.
