Pregnancy & Parenting - 10 December 2006

When I go to take an OPK, do I have to use FMU or can I take it any time of the day? I haven't gotten one yet, just would like to know in advance! Thanks!!

I have heard that its impossible and then i have have heard its possible...which one is it? has anybody had periods whilst being pregnant? and does that mean if you can have periods whilst pregnant etc does that mean a pregnancy test wont be accurate or am i being niave??

I am 30 weeks pregnant, but my due date hasn't been completly confirmed. I am pretty sure I must be farther along, but you never know. This is actually my 3rd baby, but it has been 7 years since I have been pregnant. I have been having braxton hicks contractions (never had them with other 2) for over a week. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom, it looked like I had lost my mucous plug (pretty sure, what else could it be), and then last night I felt the baby flip and her head is down. And now my tummy is a lot lower. And then today I have had frequent and loose bowel movements. Could I be starting labor (meaning could labor just be in the near future)? I have also had a lower backache most of the day and some cramping. I dont want to be just a paranoid pregnant woman and go in to the docs for no reason. Has anyone else experience these things. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

She not only drools but tends to stick her tongue out and lick her chin and upper lip. As a result, the whole area is red and irritated. Looks like little red bumps. Can I put anything on it? It not only looks bad, but I can't imagine it feels very good for her either. she's 8 months old.

I want to be on the pill because I've had sex and I want to "safe". How can I ask her to buy them for me? And I think I'm pregnant? How can I tell her this! I'm goin to get a pregnacy test sometime this week to make sure I am or I am not! How can I do this without her bitting my head off???

...when he doesnt get what he wants. we are used to getting him to stop crying by giving him what he wants, but we found that it will only make him spoiled. the other day went to blockbuster to rent a movie and he omar (my 3 year old brother) ran straight to the ice cream and we had JUST came from baskin robins before we went to block buster! he threw this fit and was screaming at the TOPPP OF HIS LUNGS! it was so humiliating. and when we tried to pick him up so we could leave, he would just lay down and kick and scream, he would would allow us to even pick him up! so my other brother and i had to hold him down and BOTH of us had to struggle to carry him back to the car where he cried and screamed for 10 minutes! he just turned 3 a few days ago, and hes never usually like this! this incident wasnt the first tim either! any suggestions?!?!? PLEASE! and thanks in advance!

ok im 21 years old and i havent had my period since june and i have taken several pregnancy tests and all were negative but one..after the one that was postive i took another to see if it would come out as positive and it was negative so i did another and neg again. i even went to the doctors and they did a urine test not a blood one and it was neg they ran blood tests to see if there was anything wrong and i am healthy but i dont understand if im healthy why havent i had my period and why are the test showing negative.? also im having sum sort of movement but my sister was saying it could be gas. also not til sumtime this month i started having tender breast. and i think i am preg but im not too sure. what do u think?

I had unprotected sex. It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow. Lately I've been feeling really tired. I've also been gassy. It feels as if i'm nervous, like butterflies or something. I've also been throwing up foam (that's what it looks like), It's not really solid throw up yet, but the foam has the same smell as throw up. It happens after every meal and I always feel like I have to throw up and nothing but a burp comes out and then eventually the foamy stuff that has the consistency of spit comes up. It also happens if i'm in a sitting in a certain position.

Ok- so we always have a messy clutter around the house and I am always trying to straighten it up, do the laundry, wash the dishes, and at the same time pack up my house because we are moving. At the same time I have 2 younge children and a newborn. My 4 year old is all of a sudden throwing tantrums, lying, not sharing, and today she threw her sister into the draws. My 2 year old is pinching, hitting, and screaming no. I am supposing that this is because they want my attention and this is the way to get it- at least that is the advice I seem to get from watching Super Nanny. So, my question is what do I do to get control of my children and the house?

Okay, now that I've taken time to collect myself and call my mother, let me calm down and tell you what's going on.

We adopted my brother "Jess" about two or three months ago. Anyway, he came from an abusive background, and for awhile, it was rough around the house.

When I learned that my uncle had been abusing my brother (my real brother) and "Jess," I pulled a few strings, and to make a long story short, he's arrested.

He's been threatening my real brother ever since he was placed in prison - I don't know what kind of threats, but it was enough for my bro to admit he was freaked out. (He's 15.)

Now, my brother is three hours late past his cerfew, and we have recieved news that our uncle's broken out of jail. My brother asked a question to my dad, and my dad punched him.

Shortly after I asked a question here I called my mom, and she's on her way home. I'm scared that my broter was kidnapped but no search is going on. What should I do?

I take Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and have since January of 2005, after our first child. I have heard that it can take up to 3 months after stopping to conceive. Do I stop my birth control completely or gradually? Thanks so much!

She has a habit of breaking curfews and not calling when she is running late. Last weekend, she came home over an hour late, no call. I told her she was grounded for a month, no phone, internet or TV. She cried and begged us for anything else saying how one of friends gets never gets grounded but still gets spanked, hinting that was more fair. We told her she is too old for that, but then she started mouthing off so her mom spanked her! It was no big deal, probably a little more than a dozen smacks with a wooden spoon over her jeans, in private. She then thought she was off the hook, but I told she is still grounded two weeks so she announced she would stop speaking to us

She then writes us a long letter saying how embarrassed she was by the spanking, asking us to promise to never ever do that to her again and then saying we lied to her by giving her both punishments. All I want her to do is just respect her curfew and be safe!.. .without the drama. She got what she deserved, right?

I got pregnant at 16. I had the baby and my boyfriend lives with me and my family because he got kicked out of his house when he told his parents. I'm 17 now(in high school) and he's 19 and he still stands by my side. He has a part time job now and he goes to college part-time. Nick(my son)is 1month old. Finally after begging my husband for the name Jackson he has come around to the name and agreed, so long as he picked middle name. The babies name will be Jackson Tyler, but we aren't sure if we should spell it Jackson as traditionally spelt, or if we should go with a different way, as Jackson is also a last name.
