Pregnancy & Parenting - 10 December 2006

Hey parents out there....

I don't know what to get my 4 month old daughter for Christmas....I know that she isn't going to remember it, but it is her first Christmas. And I want to do something memorable. Got any ideas?
Also, how about any suggestions for toys/books/music too?

she drinks water from a straw glass even juice from other glas but she refuses to drink milk from any other than nurser. when and how shall i make her leave the habit. today is the 5th day she has not had milk as we are not offering her nurser. tried with simple straw, glass , and spoon .. nothing works. she drinks water in few seconds from same straw glas but throws away milk. i don't know what to do... she wants to eat from our big dish, likes to use same glass as our for evrything else but not milk..

Okay...
I have noticed she ALWAYS props their bottles, then when the spit up she calls it "acid reflux", I tried explaining if she doesn't burp them they are going to puke up more then if they were burped. One is in my eyes also way over fed. Hes 4m and eats an 8oz bottle. Wearing 9m old clothing, very round. I suggested she have him seen by a nutritionist.
She also fails to change their clothes... sometimes for 2-3 days in a row. Also tonight she was quick to drop them off (20 degree weather) with out coats, hats. They were in short sleeve onesies with blankets.
How can I get her to see that they are not being taken care of properly? She says I don't know anything about having twins. But I am the mother of 3 children and have custody of all 3, while her daughter is in the custody of her father.
Any suggestions on how to help her is appreciated.

A friend of mine is staying with us with her toddler. The kid grabs at everything and makes a mess like any kid does, but the mother doesn't watch him when he's doing it. We tell the kid off but he doesn't really listen as we aren't his parents. our house gets trashed and i really don't know how to politely ask my friend to pay more attention without making it a problem between our friendship. it is my duty to talk to her rather than my husband, who is getting really frustrated. today was the final straw kinda when i picked up a piece of the kid's poop off the floor, which my friend actually found really funny, coz i sniffed it to see what it was (it looked like some kind of walnut!!) anyway if anyone has any good suggestions on how to approach this nicely without falling out with my friend please let me know!!

hi, I'm planning a surprise party for my sister and i figured out what to give the girls (like make-up and bath and body works stuff in a really cute purse) but i'm having trouble with the guys!!! any ideas?? i'm sure they dont want silly puddy and other little kid stuff.

I am taking 11 or my friends (12 counting me) and we are all going to the mall. We will be in groups of 3 of 4. Each group will be given 5$ and a camera and cell phone for each group. I am trying to make a list of ideas that we will have to search for. other than a close relative, my mom or mother in law/sis in laws.
So how can I find a good babysitter, we move often since hubbys in the NAVY and I don't usually have time to get aquainted with other moms enough to trust them with our kids. My hubby and I are very protective so credentials and references are crutial.

I have used castor oil and no luck

nipple stimulation no luck
evening promise oil no luck
I am 100% effaced
1cm dialted and in previous pregnancies I have had to be induce to have contractions even when I was at 10cm and water had broken I couldn't have contractions to help put me intro labor and for the past 3 days I have had some cramping but nothing breath taking! Any ideas would be help full

My 14 year old seems to have a wardrobe that is mainly jeans that are way way too tight for her. However, her friends and peers all seem to dress the exact same way. I am not entirely comfortable with her going to school or the shopping mall dressed like this, but usually her Mom and I have tried to not fight with her about her jeans, I am sure things could be much worse. Overall, she's a sweet kid, a little rebellious, has a poor memory for curfews, with a feisty smart alecky mouth and some drama queen tendencies, but still a good hearted kid, so I figure it's best not to fight with her about clothes.

Do other people feel the same way? do you confront your daughters about this kind of clothing? is it worth it? at what age should your daughter start paying for her own clothes if she chooses to dress like this? I am happy to clothe her, but I feel funny about paying for her to dress in jeans that look like they would split down the seams if she were to lean over and tie her shoes

Ok I know soooooo many people here ask the same questions over and over lol. And look at me...I am prolly one of them! So sorry about that!!! But I need your thoughts. No wise a** remarks please???

I took a pregnancy test today. Two different kind of tests and both have a REALLY REALLY faint line. Is this normal? Does this really mean I am pregnant? I will be calling the DR asap tomarrow. But it has been on my mind all day. Thoughts?

Well I got my last period on november 1st and I was 2 days late. very light one and now Dec 10th still no period. I took 2 pg test the begining of the month and they are were negative. I called my doctors office and they said I have to wait till tomorrow. I got another test. because since Friday when I wipe it's kinda pink. not all the time but sometimes. then I had sex today. a little bit of blood but other then then that was it, took another pg test and it said no. what can be wrong.??? trying to plan a kid....

i loved being pregnant with my now 1 month old daughter kylie elizabeth and i miss having the miracle of life growing inside of me. i want another baby really badly but i don't know if i should. i have a 4.0 grade point average and i am going to start college next august anfter i graduate in june. i have no problem with completeing my school work. is it wrong that my biological clock is still ticking and what do you think i should do? should i go with my instinct and have another baby with my boyfriend who is also kylie's father or should i fight it off? i don't want to wait and i don't know why this is overwhelming me soo much. some one help!

I was on the Depo Provera shot when I was 17 (i am now 22) the last shot I took was in March of 2004. I have been trying to get pregnant since then with no luck. When I first started taking the shot, my OB said my uterus had shrunk. Nobody's said anything since then about an abnormal uterus, and my original OB has since moved out of town. Could this be why I'm not getting pregnant?
