I have heard allot of I don't want to say weird since it is just because they are not common. I went to school with a girl who named her son Cavasea. And another that named her daughter Jaslin. I was going to name my daughter Crayola till I thought about how it might effect her professionally. So I changed it to something a little more accepted The name Baibi is going to be very cute till she gets older. But there is nothing wrong with that name for a nickname, or even a middle name.

just a little...but then there are worse names.....she should think of the future of the child and the teasing and confusion that she will endure!
if she wants to have the name baibi use it as a middle name or a nicknmae
she won't be taken seriously as an adult with a 'baibi' name!!

i have actually heard of weirder names! :) My dad actually went to school with a guy named Male. I personally think that is a bit ridiculous. I thought he was always joking. :)
If Guy is an accepted name why not Baibi? Not my style but to each their own!

I think she should think about the implications of that for her daughter when she is a grown adult. Will people take her seriously with a name like Baibi?

I definitely wouldn't say it's traditional! More and more people are moving away from traditional names. I mean people are naming their children after fruit these days!! Unfortunately we can't tell someone what to name their child but we can point out nicely how hard it would be to grow up with that name! According to BabyNames.com there are people in this world named Baby and people are still naming their kids that so I suppose it's livable! It's also unisex....It's like "A Boy Named Sue." Not a good idea.

No not really, but she really does need to take a step back and think about how this will effect the child in the long run. There is nothing worse than having a name that no1 can pronounce, my last name is bad enough i couldn't imagine getting it day in and day out with my first name. Good Luck but i do hope she reconsiders.

Yes, Barbie sounds a little better. But it's her Baibi.

I don't think you should do this in all respect. You should think of when they are teens and Adults. Think of your daughter getting a job and all of her employees call her baibi. Kids can also be cruel. She could seriously get made fun of in her teen tween years. Don't make a mistake you will regret.

I think yes, but then it is unique. The child probably won't meet another baibi.
