I just wonder about you, other parents, how often does your child have some privacy and isn't followed after.I have a 6-year-old and usually let her stay alone at home for 2 or 3 hours or I stay at home and if she wants, she goes out.How long are you out when you leave your 6-year-old alone at home and how long do you let your children play outside with no supervision?

The website for the toy says other markers are fine to use but I wanted to know if anyone else has done this and had the marker come out in the wash like the markers the toy came with (we lost them).

My wife has been breatfeeding from the start but on Friday we took our son to the Dr. it turns out he has only gained 6 oz from his birth weight. The nurse told us to suppliment formula 3 times per day. We did this - now he won't latch on. Only wants the bottle. We have a crying baby and a crying wife mom. Any advice? Is this normal when you suppliment? (and yes, of course I'm being supportive) :)

My 8-year-old son doesn't like when we look after him all the time.He wants to have some time alone at home.He has some friends from Europe(they are his age) and they are usually left alone at home and explain that it's something normal for children above 5 years and usually nothing bad happens to anyone.I consider letting him 2-3 hours at home alone every day but what should we tell him for his safety?

I miscarried for the 3rd time 5 weeks ago today. I have longed so much for a child and still feel the desperation. After the miscarriage i had keyhole surgery to remove endometriosis and started taking pre natal vitamins. Two weeks later me and partner began trying again. Now my breasts are al ittle tender and my nipples are darker in colour and i am feeling sick. I know the body works in a funny way and it could just be me wanting it so much. I am a little afraid of doing a test because i was just coming up to 6 weeks when i miscarried last time. What are my chances that i am pregnant or is it wishful thinking. I would be grateful for people sharing their experiences with me.

I have a 12 year old who is constantly defying me. He has a smart mouth and bad attitude. He has been getting into fights at school. His dad has told all of the kids not to let anyone mess with them and as long as they don't start it, it is all right. I try to tell them there is always a way around fighting and if you have to, just walk away. The 12 year old has taken it to far in my opinion, thinking its ok. When I tell him to do anything he cries, whines, and gets the biggest attitude. I have grounded him, made him write sentences and so on. I cannot spank him as he is my size. Dad also says I am to hard on him, and the other kids, but I don't want the other three kids thinking they can run over me. Am I justified? Or am I being too hard on him?

My son drinks a bottle maybe 4-5 times a day. My mom is the babysitter and it's hard to "teach an old dog new tricks". He's not only drinking plain milk. She adds baby cereal in the morning, and pureed vegetable or fruit in the afternoon. So I know he's getting more nutrition than just milk. Ok he also drinks from a sippy cup when we are out. And he does eat solid foods for lunch and dinner. (Not a big serving). I don't tell his pedeatrician any of this. I just told him he has a bottle in the morning and evening. When I go next month I kind of want to tell him he's off the bottle completely. But my question is, what is the real reason he should be off the bottle? Has anyone had real consequences? Please share!

My daughter is 5 years old.She is a very mature girl for her age.She understands what I say her and has her own opinion which she can substantiate.I mean she isn't a phlegmatic child as most 4-5-year-olds in usa are. So,I need to know what should I tell her to do and not to do while I'm at work and she is at home(usually 5 hours after school). We have a lock on the door and she knows how to use it.What rules should I ask her to follow?

We, in India, do consider the first letter of a child's name because we relate it with his/her zodiac sign. Do people in western world too think about the first letter of the child's name? If yes, the reason...?

Could that be the baby?? I am a very thin person so i have heard that i might feel the baby move sooner. I dont know but if someone could help me that would be so cool. Thank you very much for taking the time to help.
