I've heard that the father's birth weight will be close to the new babies birth weight. I (mom) weighed 6 lbs. at birth. My husband was over 8lbs. We have 4 children all from normal pregnancies. 3 weighed around 8lbs 8 oz. and one 7 lbs. 12 oz. The same thing happened with my brothers' children. Interesting.

Alot depends on the size of "it's" parents - are ya'll tall, short, petite, large, etc., and any use of "substance abuse" (drugs, alcohol), that can effect the childs birth weight also. Anywhere from 6.5 to 7.5 lbs. is very normal.

7-8 lbs depending on what you ate and your health during pregnancy. I gained 45 lbs and my daughter was 7 lbs 11 ozs. Her grandfather's mother had gestational diabetes and he was 11 lbs. It depends greatly on number of things.

my 1st was 7lb 5oz 21 1/2 in came home same
2nd 6lb 14oz 20in came home at 6lb5oz
3rd 6lb 12oz 19in came home at 5lb 1oz 19in
but i lost a lot of weight when i was preg but they were about right

Well I had my daughter on her due date and she was 7 lbs 10.8 oz.
