Ok I know soooooo many people here ask the same questions over and over lol. And look at me...I am prolly one of them! So sorry about that!!! But I need your thoughts. No wise a** remarks please???
I took a pregnancy test today. Two different kind of tests and both have a REALLY REALLY faint line. Is this normal? Does this really mean I am pregnant? I will be calling the DR asap tomarrow. But it has been on my mind all day. Thoughts?

And to the comment of giving birth to half a baby...that is not funny. I had an extremely premature baby 2 years ago. She almost didn't make it.

An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

I think you are pregnant. The same thing happened to me when I found out I was pregnant. I took that test that had the pink lines except the 2nd line was extremely light. The same day I went out and bought the test that has the little digital reading and told me I was pregnant. Last year when I thought I was pregnant (but really wasn't) I took the test and that 2nd line didn't appear AT ALL. So I think even if that 2nd line appears but very slightly....you're still pregnant.

yes this means that you are pregnant. Any line no matter how faint or dark means a positive result so congrats. But it is always best to have it confirmed by your dr. you are probably really early pregnant, that can cause a faint line instead of a bold line, at least thats what the directions said on any of the test i have ever taken. BEst of Luck :)

I have three kids of my own and my daughter who I had just four months ago had the same outcome. I had a faint line, but indeed I was prego. I find that instead of buying the really expencise kind go to the 99 cent store and use the pee on the stick one its the same kind they use in the doctors office and half the cost. Good luck!

Even a faint line means pregnant.. it just means that there is a weaker amount of HCG (the pregnancy hormone) in your body. Chances are you very soon and your just barely late. If you check again in a day or two I bet that faint line gets darker and darker.. That's how it was with mine. I checked a day before my period was even due and had the faint line. Checked it after I was two days late and there was that nice bold thick purple two lines.
So as long as there are two lines, no matter how faint the one is, It does mean pregnant.

Usually a faint positive line is still a positive. I think that they are just fain if you have a lower pregnancy hormone level. I believe the box says any line no matter how faint mean postive. I think congratulations are in order. Also I am glad your other little one made it. Some people are so very insensitive.

yes, it is possible you are pregnant. Even the slighest line of a positive result usually means you are pregnant.
Think about it. If you weren't pregnant there would be no line at all. A line just doesn't appear if there is no pregnancy for it to detect. soo although it is very light sounds like you are pregnant. Good Luck and Congratulations is probably in Order. :)

Usually if there is a line, no matter how faint, it still counts. it just means that you might be at the start of your pregnancy, and your hormones are not as high as they usually would if you were farther along. Congratulations if you are!! And yes I would call the Dr. first thing in the morning. Good luck to you

I totally DITTO what the others have said that a line is a line is a line.
Depending on when you test in relation to when you ovulated, you can get faint lines. I remember when I was charting my temps (I knew the exact date I ovulated because of it), I tested at like 9 days past ovulation...negative....then again at 10..negative...at 12...negative...at 15...faint line....and then from there on out....it got darker.
Just probably still pretty early...especially if you aren't even due for your period yet:)

From my past experience, any kind of line in the "pregnant" window is a positive result. It could just mean that your early in your pregnancy. I would definitely call the doctor and have him test you. They have better test than you can buy at the store. Good Luck.
