I am 30 weeks pregnant, but my due date hasn't been completly confirmed. I am pretty sure I must be farther along, but you never know. This is actually my 3rd baby, but it has been 7 years since I have been pregnant. I have been having braxton hicks contractions (never had them with other 2) for over a week. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom, it looked like I had lost my mucous plug (pretty sure, what else could it be), and then last night I felt the baby flip and her head is down. And now my tummy is a lot lower. And then today I have had frequent and loose bowel movements. Could I be starting labor (meaning could labor just be in the near future)? I have also had a lower backache most of the day and some cramping. I dont want to be just a paranoid pregnant woman and go in to the docs for no reason. Has anyone else experience these things. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I am not really sure - if you start to have regular contractions then you definetely would be. I would suggest contacting your dr and tell him/her what you told us. If you are in true labor, you will want your dr notified asap as you are still very early.
Good luck!

Many women lose their plug earlier than others. If your body isn't ready to deliver, the plug will reform and you will be ok.
I agree TOTALLY with another poster about having frequent Braxton-Hicks in an hour. Naturally, the further along you are, the more BH you can have, in general (that whole practice thing for the uterus!). My OB has told me more than 4 in an hour could indicate pre-term labor.
But nobody here is right there with you, knows your history, etc. I would TOTALLY call the on-call OB if you aren't sure what is going on and they will give you the best advice of all. That is what they are there for!!!! :) They want to help!

if you lost your plug i would call the doctor. your mucus gets much thicker and the production is greater when pregnant, but if it was a large globby amount, and had blood mixed with it, then it was your plug.
if you have had 6 or more braxon hicks in an hour then you should also call your doctor.
It seems like you're moving right along... i'd insist on an ultrasound to measure and check the baby, to see just how developed and ready for birth he/she is.

First of all, I don't consider 19 young. 13 is young and yes 13-year-olds have problems making it full term. You on the other hand, at 19, are just a plain old adult with a plain old pregnancy. You are fully developed at 19 and should have a completely normal pregnancy if you do not have any underlying risks.

When you are pregnant....there is no stupid reason to go to the doctor! You have to listen to your instincts!
They must know how big the baby is by now!! They can tell the approximate weight while still in your stomach...
Don`t feel bad, just go and find out what`s up!

It could be just false labor since you are so close. To be on the safe side have your bags ready. And never be afraid to go to the doctor. Also have them check to see how much you have dilated.
