The doctor told me that my results came back between 5-25 IU/L. They don’t know the exact number, but just know that it’s between 5-25 because that was what the lab results read. He just told me to go back on the 26th of this month, but it’s too long from now. He said under 5 is negative and 25 and above is positive and anything between that is unsure. Then the nurse said that i’m not pregnant enough. What is that supposed to mean? Isn’t it just a yes or a no that you’re pregnant? I was just wondering if it’s past negative, then it has to be positive.. Well, i don’t know.. I shouldn’t argue with them because they ARE the doctors and they know more than me. Help?? Has anyone every experience this?.. Not being pregnant enough and later show up negative or positive?

My kids are 10,8, 3.5 and 10 months. I tend to avoid visiting people or having visitors, especially those with young children, even if my kid(s) only have a cold or a runny nose. Likewise I avoid visiting people when I know they are sick, even if it is just a cold. Would you say this is common practice or is it overly cautious?

My four year old is a picky eater so I "fortify" his milk with it. I give it to my two year old too - just because. Is there anything wrong with this? I also give him Carnation Instant Breakfast and a multi-vitamin.

When you realized you were having a miscarriage, did you realize this from bleeding? Or did you go in for an ultrasound and the doctor told you? If you found out by an ultrasound (or blood work) did you have any symptoms of miscarrying at all? Did you spot or cramp? PLEASE let me know. I am almost 6 weeks pregnant and I have had a few miscarriages before, but I miscarried before I was 4 weeks and I knew cause I cramped and bled. I have not felt pregnant at all the past 3 days and am going to the doctors tomorrow afternoon. Thanks

If you reward a child with food, candy or toys for being good then won't it just create probs. in adulthood? I heard that the reason ppl eat junk food or impulse shop is because it makes them feel better. These things make them feel better because they were used to eating cookies or getting a toy when they had a bad day to make them feel better. Wouldn't it be just as bad to reward them with these things when they were good? Would they later use these things to make themselves feel better about themselves when they got older? If yes then how should you go about rewarding them if they do something good?

My mother planned her first child at 19, her second at 22. We had a lot of love in our home, but we had very little money or opportunities. I had a mother who seemed unhappy with her little freedom in life and work due to her children and high school diploma.

I wish she would had waited so she had more life experience. I think she would have been a better mother if she had waited several years before getting pregnant.

I don't think women need to wait until their 30's, but at least wait until they have lived life first. High school is not reality and its not the adult world.

What do you think?

My normal cycle was 28-32 days. Last month for some reason (highly possible, stress at work) it was 36 days. And this month seems to be quite calm for me , yet I am on the 38 day of the cycle now (that's at least 6 days delay). Today I have taken e.p.t. test (I found out later on the i-net that it is 40 Hgc sensitivity) but it turned out negative. I have at home First responce too (that is considered to be 25 Hgc) and I will try it by the end of the week if nothing happens. But I wanted to ask those who were really pregnant but tests showed negative. How soon did you go to the doctor and did they find the "+" result at once? I have read that some women don't show positive at home pregnancy tests up to 3 months. Is it normal? Why does it happen? Please, help. God Bless You all.

I'm venting here, but I want you to reply with your own take on annoying yuppie moms.
I'm so fed up with women who assume they are the greatest thing ever for having kids. Having kids actually makes more normal than before because most everybody has them! These people, mostly women, take their little lambs to the movies or a restaraunt and let them make all the noise they want because it's them "expressing themselves" while everyone else has to deal with it. They know you're looking and staring and they sit there doing nothing waiting for you to turn around and say to them to "quiet your kid". They can't f-ing wait to get an opportunity to inform you on how you should "never tell us how to raise OUR children! How dare you!" They spend way too much money on Baby Einstien crap or whatever else that is so their children's mind can "expand and wonder". They go to baby work-out classes, teach their 1 year old sign language (the kid can hear), and assume every adult will accomodate them!

I have reached a point where I don't know how to help any more.
He sees his years in school as a continuum of bullying, constant unhappiness and that breaks my heart as I know it isn't the case!
He was abused quite seriously by a classmate & gang when he was five. That was nicely brushed under the carpet and not seriously delt with, so I moved him to my school, where I ended up teaching him myself for two years (a nightmare, but better than feeling that he wasn't looked after properly elsewhere). He did have problems with other kids in that school too, although most of those knew me and respected me enough to 'go easy'... But obviously, there had to be something about my son for this to happen again?
I changed jobs to go part-time so as to make more time for him and so he went to the local school for his last year in primary. Again, there were problems with name-calling and hassle, which were kept under control by very efficient staff there.
Now it's started again in college!

I don't know how parents teach kids about Santa because I never believed in him. I want my kids to think he is real, but I don't know what other kids are taught. Please tell me what to do to keep Santa alive in my house. My daughter is 1 year, and my son is due in Feb. so I have time to learn.

My son has had 12 ear infections and he is only 15 months old, I think that the one that he was just recently diagnosed with was one that wont go away. He is now being treated with Amoxil he was just at the doc about 3 weeks ago with one. They are not severe but are enough to keep him and I awake at night. Does anyone know how many must be had before tubes are put in. We have an appoinment with the ENT on Monday, but I am wondering if they will want to put tubes in or wait a while longer.....

My common law husband of 3 years has his own mastercard, and when I say I want one he gets irritable (they are prepaid), we have a joint bank account as well. Well I want my own bank account for savings reasons and he hates the idea and says I dont need one if we have a joint account, well his pre paid mastercard is kinda like a travelling bank for him..is this fair or not???
I am an adult, I should have my own account, I dont need to justify why, right?
