Did you know that having sex too often can actually decrease the sperm count. You should try having it every other day. Also, you could try recording your temperature every morning before you get up. Get a basal body thermometer. You check it every morning and it will go up a little bit and then the next day it will go down about 5-6 points and that is when you ovulated. This is how I made sure i conceived when I took Clomid. Ob/Gyn recommended.
The increase in basal temperature lets you know that ovulation has already occurred! Why is this so? Ovulation is the release of an egg in a follicle from within the ovary. When an egg is released from a follicle, the follicle (corpus luteum) produces progesterone, which is the hormone that causes the basal temperature to increase.
Chances of pregnancy are increased with intercourse right before ovulation. Why is this so? Sperm lives for about 3 days and an egg is "fertilizable" for about 1 day. This simply increases the chances of them getting together. Additionally, the cervical mucus is the most friendly for sperm at this time.

I don't think there is any need for you guys to gang up on this girl about not being married. She asked a question and was looking for some help, not a counseling session. If you don't agree with what she's doing, there is absolutely no reason to criticize her-just move onto the next question.
With that said j5bell...I'm in the same boat as you... I'm NOT married AND trying to conceive...same ovulation times as you and trust me, doing the same things as you. I've been scouring around trying to find info as well. One thing I can say though, after talking to my doctor- the more frequent you are with having sex, the sperm count does go down but not significantly at all. Its like the difference of 88 million to 85 million sperm.
I wish you the best of luck with everything, I will keep my fingers crossed for the both of us. And don't listen to what anyone else on here has said, knocking you for not being married. You're doing what you want, what feels right for you, and that should be respected.

Okay first of all, times have changed and as long as you guys made a responsible and commited decision to have a child than I am not going to lecture on marriage. I myself am 26 and have been with my boyfriend for years and we are trying for a baby but are waiting a couple more years to get married. I am in no hurry and I know I will be with him forever so I don't see the point in getting married just to get married. So as far as whether you conceived... there is no real way of knowing unless you start experiencing symptoms and even then the only way to confirm it is with a prego test when you are late for your period.
My only advice is to well educate yourself on conception, fertility, etc. and get a physical. Also if it doesn't take this time I would go to the next step and buy some home ovulation tests, and start charting your basal body temperature. A really good website for that is fertilityfriend.com. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that your having a hard time to conceive. My husband and I tried to get pregnant after our first daughter turned four. It didn't happen for several months of trying. We finally gave up on our I'm ripe and ready dates. If you know what I mean. We finally got ourselves relaxed ,didn't stress on focusing on making a baby. But enjoying on our lovemaking. Within a few weeks (we didn't do it all the time, because it lowers the sperm count) we found out that we were expecting. I found that when you don't think about it or expect it, it will usually happen on its own. Good luck and don't make lovemaking a chore to conceive a child. It will happen in good time.

Please check the Billings Ovulation Method (there's a web page) it's a method for fertility control to help avoid conception naturally, but also conceive; also check out Life fertily programme, all natural & they have the figures to prove it works.
Good luck, you two! And don't stress out about it, it'll happen, just enjoy...

Okay, the obvious question is why try to make a baby without formal committment? Sometimes it takes time and then some people may have fertility issues.

OMG!!! SERIOUSLY?! What the hell ever happened to getting married and being committed to the person BEFORE having a baby?! Your child will be a bastard... remember that. They will always think they were a mistake, no matter what you tell them. Have some respect for yourself, have a wonderful husband and THEN have a baby.

Maybe you should think about GOD. Hmmmm he wasnt into the sex before marriage or having a baby out of wedlock. When was the last time you prayed, and were you selfish about it?? When God is ready and sees that you are ready, It'll happen, and then again you might not never be ready.

No matter how hard you try, your B/F will not get preggy. The only one that will become preggy is you. And you see, without the mini-handcuffs on the finger, you will be the only one preggy!
Get my drift?
