Two things: First, Snow on Cedar is correct. It's a sad and simple fact that some children are simply more prone to ear infections than others and tend to have many more of them than the next child. Antibiotics very often don't do a thing. However, there are drops that doctors can -- and very often do -- prescribe that eliminates the pain of an ear infection. Now, you're probably going to ask me the name of it (because everyone is always asking ME the really hard stuff!) but I can't remember the name right off. Ask your doctor (or your pharmacist), then get a prescription and keep it on hand. Hint: if you warm the bottle under hot water for a few moments, it feels much better when you put the drops into your little guy's ears. :-)

Second: where do you get off, MB423752, for handing down your ridiculous assessment that any mother ought not have 4 kids? Far from having anything to do, whatsoever, with the question at hand, it does go a very long way towards revealing your maturity level. It occured to me just now -- and will probably occur to others before long -- that the numbers in your user name very likely are your locker combination, your brain cells being so sadly lacking that this was the only way your parents could help you keep track of it.

Get a vasectomy, then get a job and a life...please. For the good of the world.

Well I can tell you that this happened with my daughter and started when she was pretty young...probably 6 months. She would get the infection(s), we would give antibiotics as directed and they would never go away. Sometimes she would have them and we would not even know about it. We would take her for a check up or immunizations and they would see that she had an infection. It got to the point where 3 rounds of antibiotics did not help. I ended up taking her to an ENT and we had ear tubes put in when she was 1yr and 7months. She still has them and she just turned 3 in July. They were a tremendous help. I knew she was miserable and that made it worth it. This is my first time ever answering a question here so let me know if I did something wrong. Hopefully this will help you and good luck.

My oldest never had an ear infection. My youngest once went through four rounds of antibiotics to get rid of one infection and got another in less than a week. Just keep taking them in until they are all better. There isn't much you can do except not lay them down with drinks and not smoke around them and wait it out. Poor boys. Hope they get better soon. Some infections just resist the first antibiotic because they start with weaker ones. The doctors will perscribe stronger ones until they get better. It has to clear up eventually or they will send you to a specialist (Ear Nose and Throat).

It's not rare at all for antibiotics not to clear an ear infection in kids. It's also not overly surprising for both of them to have the problem. They probably have similar immune systems so that's why they react the same way.

Usually after multiple ear infections, doctors will suggest having tubes put in the ear canal to help drain off infection and fluids.

Good luck! It was bad when my nephew had a double ear infection - much less two kids with it.

When my older son was two, he had an ear infection from November until March and not even the strongest antibiotics would work for long. He finally had to have tubes put in.

When he was three, he had his tonsils and adenoids removed due to sleep apnea as well. Come to find out, if they would have done the second surgery first, then he would have never needed the tubes to begin with.

Check with your doctor about all of the options before you make any decisions.

Good luck!

Antibiotics are no longer successful at treating many illnesses due to over use and improper use. Ear infections are particularly hard to treat. A recent study showed that ear infections heal at the same rate whether or not they are treated with antibiotics.

If a instructor at my daughter's college wore a button that denigrated females, i might whinge. maximum strongly. So why do no longer the father and mom of boys? once you're making a racist remark, or in any different case offensive, that's certain to come back to the father and mom, and then to the top. So how come those instructors wreck out with those comments? I save examining articles supposedly exhibiting how boys are taken care of abysmally. i've got in no way come around the certainty, with the help of how. and that i've got been in many school rooms. confident, boys are oftentimes naughtier, louder, extra aggressive. what's the respond? can we carry back the birch, the slipper, the cane? Little boys have in no way been allowed to run around, inflicting disruption. They have been overwhelmed in the event that they did. We get instructed that we are dumbing down the device on one hand, yet on the different, females are doing extra suitable than boys. what's the reality? In my daughters' college they're promoting boys on the cost of ladies folk. i'm no longer too afflicted, for sure there's a choose in society, yet on the comparable time, why might desire to my daughters be ignored? can we would desire to consistently bypass back to a society the place one gender is promoted over yet another? Are boys no longer able to behaving, doing the comparable artwork as a woman - which apparently has been "dumbed down"? it relatively is a secret to me. Boys used to act - till the previous few years. Is it because of larger style of single mothers? if so, what can we do approximately that? Few women human beings willingly have little ones on their very own. I do believe that as a society we've become extra tolerant, with little ones being inspired to be "severe lively". possibly we ought to all do with some parenting training. in any different case, carry back the cane.

it may just be that there ears got cold. that happens this time of year. its hard to avoid you can't keep there hats on them if they just won't wear them. It happens that the anti's just don't work on some people they may be trying stronger ones. its not a big deal. this is the age of ear infections. I know its hard to see your children in pain but it will clear up. Good luck.
