ok, so i need to buy one good present like a toy or book or something for an 8 year old boy. the present needs to be between 5 and 10 dollars, but this and the other thing i buy him will probably be the only presents he gets so I want the toy present to be good! any suggestions of what an 8 year old would want??

I don't like how emotionally attached to the game they get. They talk about it with their friends. My youngest (12) cries over it sometimes. Any one else have opinions about it? Have you had to say "that's it no more"?

I have two boys ages 3 and 1 and their toys are taking over the house! The funny thing is I never buy them any... they come from birthdays or Christmas. I've held on to most of them because I plan on having one more child and I feel like I should save them for him or her. I need to make room since Christmas is coming up but they are in good condition and I'm torn about getting rid of them. What is your opinion?

I am a naturally underweight person, I have a high metabolism I think, I have always eaten a lot but made sure it was balanced.
Since I got pregnant though, I have got out of control, I cant stop thinking about food it is on my mind 24/7.My main cravings are for cheese, eggs, sandwiches, oranges, meat and toast, and I am just constantly eating all day long until my stomach is so full and I feel sick, even then I am still thinking about eating more. I eat my meals too and fruit/ vegetables, but I am just worried that this is not normal, what is wrong with me?

Hi everyone, my baby girl is 7 months old and she is strictly on breastmilk. She has started on solides (baby cerals/veggies/fruits), what her peditrician has said. However she doesn't know like formula. She likes the real stuff. (breastmilk) She will not take a bottle as well. Point being is, we are in the court process of child custody & visitation. Overnight stays are not feesible with the father, due to breastfeeding. I am not going to give my daughter she doesn't want and not going to make a fast transition if she isn't ready. She'll be ready when she is ready. Generally, can the courts rule that she is with him for a certain amount of time due to breastfeeding.

***I do know a friend of mine who got her baby's father to only spend 2 hrs with his son because he was being breastfeed.***THIS IS ALL IN CALIFORNIA***

I'm not a parent, but I'm curious as to what you all think of this.

I'm posting this not to receive answers, but rather to share info with other breastfeeding mothers. It's a lot of work to nurse your child, and although I really am not a drinker I do enjoy the occasional glass of wine with dinner. Pretty much everyone came down hard on the woman who wanted to know how long to wait to nurse after having a drink (which was asked a few hrs ago). She was being a responsable mother, trying to find out exactly how long she needed to wait, and most people said: DONT DRINK. In a negative manner to boot. This is for all those people: please see the following links. The first one works to dispell the myth that a nursing mother can not have the occasional drink or that you must 'pump and dump' after drinking, the second gives you down to the minute advice on how long to wait based on your weight. Now lets go drink a toast to motherhood!!

i am 4 weeks and two days pregnant and suffering already! before i ate just one meal a day and i would be fine, but since yesterday, i've been experiencing lightheadness, nausea and vomiting! i'm also finding it hard to sleep and my hadaches are very mild... however, this morning i noticed a slightly slippery milky discharge, which was also watery! is this normal as i heard pregnant women should have thick discharge!

Okay, I had asked a question earlier about me missing a pill. I missed my pill on a Saturday or a Monday. This wasn't this past weekend but the weekend before. I realized I missed it on Tuesday and took two that day. My husband and I had sex on that Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I am not suppose to start my period until Nov. 21 or 22. I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it said negative, but it was very faint and the control line was dark. I took 2 more yesterday and the same thing. (Faint negative with dark control line). Last night I started having pains right of my belly button and all across below my belly button. This went on all night last night. Today, the pain on the right of the belly button is gone, but the pain below my belly button is still there. It kind of feels like a menstrual cramp, but not as severe and it feels like a tightening feeling.(I am not constipated.) Am I over reacting or could I really be pregnant? Thanks for all the help

im 17 and i just found out im pregnant with my 19 y/o boyfriend. we have been together for a while n have thought long and hard about how we would take care of the kid n where we would stay n what not... he has 2 jobs that pay him very well so money wouldnt be that much of a problem... we would move to NY and split the cost of an apartment with my mom. my mom and my dad are dead set on me getting an abortion but i refuse to... i dont believe in then and dont think they are right at all. my dad basically said that if i choose not to get one that he will take him to court for statutory rape and do anything he can to me my like hell.. i understand they are worried that we wont be able to take care of the kid but we will do anything we have to raise this kid right and if we need any help with anything his parents said they would help.i dont understand how he would take the father of the kid out of the picture and make my situation even harder... what should i do

I know she will always need to be supervised, but right now we take a bath together every day because that's what feels right (she's 3 months). I love our bathtime, but when will I be able to just let her do her thing in the tub?

My son's name is Hunter (William) and our last name is Kuppusamy. So, the first name needs to be simple.

We like:
Roman Giovanni-Paolo (in memory of our pilgrimage to Italy after the death of Pope John Paul II)
Aidan Francis
Canaan Elijah

For Girls:
Maria Novella
Sylvie Rose

Do these sound like good sibling names? Does Sylvie sound to old fashioned to Hunter?
