My boys are runescape addicts and now my husband plays too! As long as you limit their computer time, so they don't live on the computer, I think it is OK. They are so addicted that last year they didn't want any Christmas presents; they just wanted to get things for their man on runescape. Actually, my boys have learned a lot through runescape. They have learned to be wise about not being taken advantage of by a scam. I'm hoping that runescape will indirectly save them a lot of money as adults.

Well...the funny thing about saying "thats it" is thats like saying "No because I said so" which is unfair.
Better would be to give them outside activities to do, or even better, play WITH THEM something.
Bike ride, even card or board games. But Id say get them involved in spoorts so they balance out there time between games and physical activity.
Karate or any of the martial arts are always fun for kids, and it will teach them discipline. But best would be the basic sports basketball baseball or soccer.
Heck even gymnastics is cool.
But you cant take something away from them without giving them something in return. you do that and they'll find ways to play it still -- or theyre plain flat out rebel.
Id advise to do it indirectly. Dont let them know what youre up to. Women are good at being sneaky that way. :)
And without knwing it, theyll be having fun outside and still being passionate about their favorite game at same time.
And who knows, maybe their passion will lead them to become game developers one day?

Eh. My advice would be talk to them about it, discuss with them what's making them upset. Explain to them that there is a difference between real life and a computer game, and they need to keep this in mind and have emotionally appropriate responses to it, and if these responses aren't appropriate, then the game will be limited or not allowed.
Online games require alot of time and effort to really be able to achieve anything in, so I have to applaud you for limiting it. My boyfriend was addicted to evercrack and I was addicted to world of warcrack for awhile, the games can get frustrating. (We're both grown adults, by the way, we just never quite outgrew video games, and probably never will. We also don't weigh 300 lbs or anything close.. we're actually quite fit and active.) I think the worst "emotional" bit I've ever had was I slammed my fist on the desk out of frustration at a character death during an instance (sort of like a quest), but I can't say I've ever cried over it, that is a bit too emotionally attached. I've thrown a controller if I died during a boss battle when I was younger playing the nintendo or SNES, but that happend only once or twice.
You really need to think about your kids ability to distinguish reality from fantasy and their maturity level, and give them appropriate materials based on their ability. Online games are filled with filth, to be quite honest. There's alot of nasty things that are said and done in such games out of hate and spite.

I play it. I don't get emotonally attached to the game. Tell him to take a break from the game if he cries over it. Although if he lost a white phat, I can understand!
Tell him to add me - lifestinks90

I wish they placed a runescape sub section as a results of fact i'm going to be the final answerer there. ok in case you opt for to beat those annoying magers placed on ranger amour like leather-based chaps.selection beats mage interior the wrestle triangle. in case you opt for to attack with magic then you could desire to placed on blue robes from interior the wizard tower by using killing wizards. i'm assuming your a unfastened worlder and that i've got in undemanding terms given you unfastened worldwide solutions.

If it wasn't that game, it would be something else. Just be thankful they aren't hurting themselves or someone else.
