why dose it have to be between 5 and 10 dollars is that some rule for the buying or just in your budget? Anyway i have a 10 and 8 year old. My 8 year old wants a doddle bear "she's a girl"...they do have doddle monsters for boys i paid 18 for the bear but they had a 10.00 dollar kind also. I think a doddle monster would be a ok gift for a boy that age they can sleep with it draw on it travel with it. IT'S HARD to get any cool toy under 10.00 most NICER things are 20-30 range. Also toy cars are cheap or legos. it's best if you had a ideal what the kid was into I WOULD NOT buy clothes a 8 year old needs a neat toy.

Legos ,and the doodle monster are both good Ideas. I have 7 and 9 year old sons. They both want a CD player and CD. I know they have CD walkmans for 9 dollars over at Wal Mart and then if you can spend a little more, buy a 5 dollar CD to go with it, or you can get him a cool action figure of some kind.
