I know she will always need to be supervised, but right now we take a bath together every day because that's what feels right (she's 3 months). I love our bathtime, but when will I be able to just let her do her thing in the tub?

My baby daughter loved to bathe with me until she was about 5 months. Then I started bathing her on her own in the big tub with a supportive bath sling. At about 7 months she started to protest even if I got back in with her, so we went to the kitchen sink. Now at almost 11 months she splashes happily in about 4 inches of water in the sink while sitting very well. I don't put her in the big tub without the sling, afraid she will slip or clunk her head sideways against the walls. The kitchen sink only comes up to her shoulders and fits around her little sitting body nicely. But I would keep bathing with her as long as you and she are both enjoying it!!

You will need to put her in some sort of bath chair, or ring for a while. Typically kids can sit unsupported at 6-9 months (see link) but for safety reasons you will want to have her in the ring for a while. '

Why not a baby bathtub for now? Or give her a bath in the sink.

Probably when she is old enough to sit really good by herself. I think my daughter was about 6 or 7 months when she started playing in the tub.

A safe time to let her sit in the tub on her own is after she gets the hang of sitting up by herself. Usually around 6 or 7 months.

At that time, I highly recommend one of those plastic chairs that suction to the bottom of the bathtub so she isn't just sitting in the tub. The chair will help just in case she falls over or slips.

Whenever she can sit up on the floor on her own. But always stay right next to the tub to supervise and catch her if she topples over.

We used a sprint one bath consistent with threat three times. It grew to become into any such soreness to apply. It did no longer paintings nicely to be positioned interior the huge bath by way of fact it grew to become into too perplexing to maintain a grip on the slippery whilst moist toddler jointly as achieving over the area of the tub, there wasn't sufficient room on our counter actual for it, and it grew to become into in simple terms terrible for me to apply. My son had "sponge baths" until he grew to become into 4 months old. i might in simple terms fill a great bowl with heat water and upload some toddler bath to it. Then i ought to lay him on a great fluffy blanket on the floor and wash him off and dry him area via area. this form we prevented the slippery moist toddler project. We even have been waiting to maintain maximum of his physique lined which helped him to stay heat. whilst he grew to become into 4 months old we began to bathe him in the huge bath, even with the indisputable fact that it nonetheless grew to become right into a soreness. I mean, i might fill the tub up with purely a pair of inches of water in touch in a "bath" that lasted for below 3 minutes. as quickly as he grew to become into waiting to take a seat down strongly on his own, although, he grew to become into additionally sufficiently old to start to appreciate twiddling with toys in the tub, which has made bath time great!
