My 2 month old daughter eats about every 3 hrs. Her pediatrician recommended getting her on a 3-4 hr feeding schedule. She says that my daughter should be sleeping at least 5 to 6 hrs at night. Well, she doesnt do this because she is conditioned into waking up every 3 hrs for her feeding. Sometimes I get lucky and she goes for four hours. For example: I feed her every 3 hrs during the day, then 10pm comes around, she eats, then awakes around 1a, then 4am, then 7am, etc. Is this a good schedule, or what can I do to get things on better track?

Ok, I know either way its not going to be a walk in the park by any means. I'm just trying to decide how I want to deliver. I kind of want to try a natural birth but I feel like other moms who have done it are discouraging me. Is it worth trying or is it unbearable? ADVICE PLEASE!!

I go back to work tomorrow after being on maternity leave for 12 weeks. I am going to miss her, but I feel a little guilty because I sort of miss that part of my life (working). I have enjoyed these weeks with my daughter, but is it a bad thing to feel "ready to going back to work"?

Also, how do you pick a good day care? My parents are going to watch her for at least her first year, but I will eventually have to find her a day care center. I hear so many horror stories that I am extremely reluctant to doing this. I read about a facility that has cameras in the daycare center and parents can log-in to the website to check on their little one. I thought this was so cool, but I dont know of any place such as this in Houston, Tx.

I find it odd that none of the teens here seem to have any chores. Don't any of you mow the lawn, do dishes, make supper, vacuum, dust, laundry? Do you even have to take the trash out?

So many of you answer questions about sex. Is all you do is have sex and buy pregnancy test and abortion pills? There might have been teen sex 100 years ago, but those teens worked and lived as adults. Why is it so different now?

My baby is 6 months old + I am a first time mum, married. Complex emotions with the in-laws. When they hold her or monopolise her too much, I find myself getting knots to the tummy, major apetite loss occurs, I feel obelete almost and so now I find it increasingly difficult spending time with them. I want her to want me and her daddy only and find it so hard to share her with them.

In trying to rationalise my emotions, I realise there could be some emotional baggage from my past. Last in a large family, I often felt overlooked as a child + have spent a lot of my life overachieving to get noticed. Perhaps I felt a bit unloved + so am seeking to mend old wounds with daughter.

Also, moving home several times has seen friends slip away + I see my daughter as 1 true pure love to cherish in the absence of other contacts.

In the gentlest of ways, I asked my in laws to space their regular visits to us + now risk alienating my husband who is very close to them.

Advice sought pls!

The situation is: My husband and I both work full time, and we're fortunate enough to have my mom watch our two boys (aged 28 months and 12 months) during the day. We recently moved, and I started a new job where I make considerably more money than I did. This allows us to be able to afford to do fun things with our kids on the weekends that we previously weren't financially able to do on a regular basis. We've never gone without, but my husband and I have lived paycheck to paycheck even before we had kids. I love my job now, but the problem I'm having is that I'm the breadwinner, and it's impossible for me to be a stay at home mom. Financially, my husband and I both have to work to be able to run our family/household. We don't want to become financially strapped. As it is now, I see our kids only on the weekends, really. I see them 10 minutes in the morning, and by the time I get home at night, fix dinner, do the dishes, etc. it's time for the kids' to go to bed. More...

What I was wondering is about breast feeding the next day when you have a hang over. The liquor is out of my system, or is it? Why do I feel so crappy if my body absorbed the liquor, and is there anything going in to my milk?

My son is 14 mos. old, he says doga=dog, dada, mama (rarely), pappy, dop (i think is stop) thats about it. I'm a little concerned that he's not saying ball/ baby etc.. he seems to say
"huh" to EVERYTHING he points to things & says it, when you say anything to him he says it. However he knows tons of things that we say to him, we say get your chair to eat & he pushes his chair out into the diningroom, if you say I need to change your diaper he sits down & waits, if you say take off your shirt for a bath he'll do it, if you tell him to spin a circle he does it, he knows to point to his head, tongue, feet & ears & he knows to blow on his fingers if you tell him its hot, the list goes on & on for those types of things, but he just doesnt say much back. he has some underlying health concerns & I think i'm always paranoid that he'll have something else wrong. Is it ok for him to only have 4-5 words? The DR seemed really ok with it but sometimes I wonder if they tell u what u want to hear

im 6 weeks pregnant, having light menstrual cramping, and moderate spotting. I dont mean to be graphic but the spotting started as a milky pink/brown discharge. But today it has been more red/brown but not milky...more like menstrual bleeding that you get toward the end of ur cycle. I have been relaxing as much as possible. I had an ultrasound last friday and they said that i am okay and the baby is exactly where its supposed to be. I am so scared that I am going to lose the baby. This is my first pregnancy so im not sure what to expect. I know some spotting is normal, im just not sure how much is normal. Is there anything I can do to prevent and lessen the spotting? Thanks so much for your responses....They have been very comforting and helpful.

Is it possible for your uterus to fall out?? Like all the way out thru your body outside? The reason why I ask this is: When I was 15 I had an abortoin. I was only 6 weeks along when I had it. A few weeks later (3 weeks later) this small bloody meat like thing...it was kind of circular...and it was maybe like 1/3 inch wide and 1/2 and inch long...this was also during my period. I had never had anything like this come out of me during my period...so I did not know what to think. Yeah, this was 3 years ago...but still it had me wondering today... Oh and another thing....I've gotten I think atleast 2 or 3 pelvic exams since this happened... when they press down in the uterus area....so the doctor would know right??

I love my friend, and I really like to spend time with her. We talk about everything, and do everything together. However, her young son's behavior is so out of control. What is even more alarming is that when he throws a fit and they get into a fight, she gives in or buys him whatever he wants. She will go over the top with threatening him with a spanking or some other empty promise (which I think she only does because I am there). It is embarassing to be in public or at a restraunt and be the group that is making everyone else uncomfortable. The other problem is that I have a child too, but she is still a baby. I am afraid that eventually I will have to cut all ties with my friend because I do not want my child to be around a child with this explosive (and sometimes violent) behavior, and see that he gets away with it. I don't want to be in a position where she gets in trouble and he gets away with the very same thing.
