Recently Dennis Milligan, the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, sounded pretty excited about the prospect of domestic terrorism. Rick Santorum has echoed similar sentiments on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show.

Why would they look forward to the death and fear caused by terror attack?

Could a terror attack represent a political opportunity for these people?

Dow plunges more than 300 points

Truth be told, I don't equate the stock market to the US economy due to so many US companies moving out of the country in the first place. Yet neo-cons assume that the DOW IS the economy, much like they confuse Bush with a country called America.

I'm a Liberal, and let me tell you it is very hard to be a TRUE Liberal; that is, you must question the possibility that your opponent may be right... I have not gained much favor with my fellow Lefties because of this -- I always argue the conservative side when I am in the presence of liberals to:
A. Understand your own argument well...
B. Understand your opponent, and why your opponent is who he/she is.
C. Entertain other possibilities and adapt to changes.
and of course, the conservatives hate my guts because I'm a Lefty...

This is a Democracy, we must listen to each other instead of having a shouting match like Bill O' Riley vs. Donahue... Why do people have to be so stubborn when picking sides?

If the US had full (100%) employment, for instance, the wage pressures would cause inflation. Logically then, someone MUST BE POOR for capitalism to function

This is but one example

Or better, I like the way George Carlin puts it:

"If everyone gets rich, who's gonna clean all the @*%! toilets?"

In a sense the GOP needs someone who will energize their base. They need to have a polarizing effect.

Giuliani is a left leaning Republican. He would NOT sway voters away from Senator Clinton.

The GOP needs another Ronald Reagan. Or at least a more right wing, traditionalist candidate who has some charisma.

McCain, Thomspon, or Romney could be the man for the job.

But Giuliani is far too left leaning. And I think he will turn off a lot of voters in the end.

Your thoughts?

It looks like there is no stopping Hilary Clinton from winning her party's nomination.

So should the Republicans think only of finding someone to beat her? Or should they look for a candidate who best represents the ideals, views, and values of the party?

And if they do need to think only of beating Clinton, then who should they choose?

Given all of the laws Bush has broken, both domestic and international, is there anywhere he can go to avoid jail after he leaves office? Would Hillary grant him a universal pardon so that he could retire in Crawford, TX, possibly under house arrest?

Dow Jones was down 260 points this afternoon. The Fed pumped in $41 Billion to stop the slide. This is the second time since August this has happened yet Bush tells us the economy is just great. He also claims there's no money for social programs, threatening to veto everything that comes out of Congress, yet it's OK to bail out big business. I really don't understand this, could some one explain without getting all testy about it.

Abortion. Welfare. Gun control. Affirmative Action. Why do all of your (failed) "solutions" focus on the EFFECT rather than the CAUSE?

In the business world, this type of reactionary policy is known as "certain failure".

Oh, it would be great to hear from liberals who can reply without using terms like "neocon", re-pud-licans", "Gay Old Party", or any other childish term that is being heard on the playground at recess THIS week. Furthermore, refraining from making any reference to President Bush will significantly increase your chances of being perceived as credible. Lastly, any comments that attempt to divert attention away from the subject by digressing into other tangents will automatically expose the poster as the uneducated cretin that he/she is.

Got that?
