How about all the special interest groups that will not allow domestic exploration pay for the rest of America's gas bill?

How much is to much Sway?

I doubt we'd be paying this much if we hadn't been dropping the ball on refining capacity and exploration for the past 30 years. Blame gov't regulation and special interests.

I'm guessing it will be closer to $6.00.

Stop buying 93 octane gas then. 87 octane gas is $2.65 a gallon.

$3.00 a gallon is cheep compared to most countries in Europe.

Although I believe that we should increase domestic exploration, I think the better alternative is to switch to alternatives.

We need more Nuclear power. Concentrate on ethanol from cellulose, not corn. Biodiesel and other forms of energy. By cutting our dependence on a form of energy that is finite, we strengthen our independence in all aspects.

Yeah, if gas prices get any higher you will not only pay more at the pump--your electric, heating and grocery bill will all go up.

Stop whining? Get active before you cannot afford these things anymore, our wages are not going to go up as well to meet that kind of demand.

$3 a gallon? You must not live in California. That, or you are using 87 which is really only gas fumes. The lower the octane, the harder your engine works and the more crap pumped into the air.

Exactly.

And how about all of those NIMBYs and environmentalist wackos who won't let any new refineries be built anywhere in America. Heard about one very serious plan in the Dakotas being shot down by all of the above, the same kind of people who accuse us of being involved in the Middle East because of oil! They can't even align their lies with one another.

I would rather pay higher prices for gasoline than have the trucking industry paying more for diesel fuel. We are paying more for every good that we buy now because of this. Milk at $4.00 a gallon. Every damn thing is up.

A good question and a timely question.
Unless I missed it, in the recent flood of debates, has anyone asked any , ANY of the candidates what they would do about high gas prices and oil co profits???
Have they?????
Or, could it be, George Bush is not the only one allegedly getting rich off the oill companies????

Explore all you want...we don't have enough refineries to process the gas fast enough.
