What should they be? Or what are they? I'm afraid it's two different things.
As Christians, they need to be more inclusive. That's a big problem with their group as a whole. Jesus ate with the "trash" of society - the prostitutes and the thieves.
However, they also believe strongly in personal morality and responsibility - something Jesus was also very firm on. Being good stewards of money, being productive in society, keeping away from the things in the Bible that were listed as bad.
So yes, they have a learning curve.
