And if not, then why would they teach intelligent design and not these things also?

NO! And leave intelligent design in the church where it belongs. Keep religion out of the classroom and consign it to the church, where it should stay. And the sane people of the world won't come into church and try to enlighten you about the fossil record. Teaching intelligent design in the classroom is the worst thing you could do to encourage academia.

Generally I would say no, unless the lesson is to point out why these things are not consistent with current scientific thinking. Clearly intelligent design and other ideas are pseudo-science (an idea that pretends to be science but really is not). Sometimes it is necessary to talk about what is not scientifically based to show the distinct difference between science and random ideas.

Big foot and UFOs are speculation and do not belong in a serious science class any more than witchcraft, superstitions, or any other such stuff does.

They are nice to talk about but should not take the place of fact-based biology, chemistry, ecology, physics, etc.

To Samantha:

Re: Santa Physics

Classical Newtonian Physics says that if Santa were not ripped apart by the tremendous G-forces of accelerating (starting and stoping) he would burn up from the heat generated by air friction.

Nope, they shouldn't teach about Sasquatch, UFOs, or intelligent design. We should also add the man made Global Warming myth to fallacies that children don't need to learn in science class.

No, Sir, what is a science teacher in today's time, but a drug toting, advocating abortionist, who got their job through Affirmative Action? Teachers of today, don't teach, they command, and report to the man (principal), not defend right from wrong.

Any one believing in big foot & ufo's should not be in a science class. They should be reading or watching sci fis. or fables.
