If we had a democrat president and he made all the same decissions concerning the war how would the american public respond? The largest part of the media is of course liberal based. Would it all been reported differently? Do you really think that today you would have the same attitude?

Media is a powerful tool. Perception is stronger than fact. I dont think you would feel the same way because I really feel it would of been reported differently. Unfortunately many never seek the facts, they accept the media reports.

Abortion is a terrible thing. Every time a potential mother decides not to have a baby is tragic, and not to mention morally wrong, in my opinion.
However, I do believe that my position is just that, an opinion. My opinion is based on my religions up-bringing and my current position in life.
If you disagree, you have a right to.
I hate the politics of this issue. Next time a person calls me pro-abortion I am going to call them anti-freedom or pro-theocracy.
In the next stupid presidential debate I hope the question is asked, “If president, would you outlaw abortion” that would cause some troubled candidates.
Thanks for reading, What do you think?

Quote from Lieutenant General Douglas Lute:
"And I can tell you, this has always been an option on the table. But ultimately, this is a policy matter between meeting the demands for the nation's security by one means or another"

It's my opinion that draftees make lousy soldiers, are a drain on our military budget, are typically insubordinate, and are in too many ways to list here a great way to reduce our combat effectiveness in an awful hurry, the exact opposite of what we'd need in a crisis.

Also, to be fair to Lieutenant General Lute, he did not speak out in favor of the draft, and echoed the opinion that our volunteer military was doing a good job. He merely said that it was an option worth considering.

I tend to disagree with this. But, I see things from my own point of view. What do you think?

It Turns out they had DOOMSAYERS back in 1922 trying to scare the hell out of gulible non-thinkers!

"D.C. resident John Lockwood was conducting research at the Library of Congress and came across an intriguing Page 2 headline in the Nov. 2, 1922 edition of The Washington Post: "Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and Icebergs Melt."

The 1922 article, obtained by Inside the Beltway, goes on to mention "great masses of ice have now been replaced by moraines of earth and stones," and "at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared."

There are some on YA that keep saying the military is filled almost completely with conservatives. Now, while many join the military for patriotic and unselfish reasons there are three other reasons many people join and stay in, I now this from many, many years of personal experience.
a) they don't have the skill set to get a decent paying job so they join to learn a saleable skill.
b) need health care for their family because they can't afford it
c) want money for school because they can't afford to pay for it themselves.

Sounds a bit liberal to me.

The military is non-partisan - or, at least, it's supposed to be. The people they're killing in Iraq don't care what American political party the soldiers belong to. The liberal soldiers and conservative soldiers share the same color blood, and they don't bleed any differently when a bomb goes off or they're shot. But conservatives seem to only care about the conservative soldiers. They constantly demean the contributions of liberal soldiers by pointing out that "the majority of the military is conservative." Why do they think that the political party of people who are merely following orders matters in the least?

I've been tracking this... seems like morning and afternoon, there's a lot of liberal bashing going on here. In the evening and at night, the cons disappear. Does that mean they either don't have jobs or they consider their jobs so unimportant that they spend time on Y!A when they should be working?

Shouldn't the overwhelming majority of Americans who are centrists get together and for a new political party? Unit08 is a start but not the final solution. Does anyone have the patience to build such a party? Enough grass roots support could get it done. Even possible?
