Do you believe him when he says he wants to spend more time with his family (his son just left for college)?
Do you understand this does not excuse him to give his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee?

Rove is most likely in hiding. Not gone. Probably still on the payroll.

Obviously something very serious is going on, considering there's less than a year and a half of this administration and Rove can't hang around for it.

I certainly won't feel any relief until this term of office is finally over. All this resigning left and right of various White House members does not make me feel any better, because I don't believe they're truly gone.

Remember that many of these people are out of the White House yet still under the thumb of "executive privilege" by Bush, from testifying to Congress...

Yes! It seems all the rats are jumping ship!

Dan Bartlett and Harriet Miers are gone, too.

Is it something more sinister that has hurried their leaving, (my heart skips a beat at the thought of impeachment hearings!) or is it simply a futile effort to savage what is left of their political reputations by distancing themselves from this unpopular president?

Half of Bush's brain is gone. The other half is still Vice President.

It doesn't excuse him, but the President has a more justifiable claim for Executive Privelege regarding Mr. Rove than he's had for some others. He's not going to testify anyway- whatever drove him out of the Whitehouse, it was something altogether different.

I think its curious how all leave due to 'wanting to spend more time with family'.

Tell all book? consultant business? Who knows. One thing he's always been really good at is staying one step ahead in craftiness. I'll give him that.

This is not that big of a news story that every is making it out to be. He has dont his national duty and wants to retire. Most people retire.

He is already exempt from testimony due to President Bush giving him executive privilege. It's pretty open and shut there.
