Neocons have had complete control for 6 years and failed miserably. Anything is better than MORE failure.

Interesting question. But fortunately for the right, Dems are much more willing to represent the opposition and compromise in decision making than the GOP. That's because the Dems understand that different philosophies apply to different circumstances. Sometimes the conservative approach is the best and sometimes the liberal approach works well.
The venomous, single mindedness of the GOP stems from the fact that they are not a viable political faction and have absolutely nothing to offer the people of the US. They know they are useless and are panick in their death thorows.

well when the republicans ran congress, and with a republican president in office, they havent listened to anybody but corporations, special interest groups, and the sound of money going into their bank accounts.
But yes, it would be good for all groups to listen, debate farely, quit the bickering, stop blocking everything the other group wants to do and work together to accomplish goals that will help the greater good of the country as a whole. Its a nice idea..but probably isnt going to happen any time soon. We have it stuck in our heads that republicans do one thing, and democrats do another and not that we are all americans, and should all be working to benefit the country. Liberals arent anti-american, Conservatives arent all anti-human rights and pro-war. We stereotype these groups as much as any other, and it is just as degrading as any form of prejudice out there. We need to go to a one party system because americans are to stupid to get stereotypes and labels out of their heads, and make decisions based upon fact and benefit of America, and when i say America, that means everyone living in it, men, women, asians, hispanics, black, white, homosexuals, children, arabs...we are one people, and should act as one.

The dems gained in '06 by way of fact the yank public is pissed off with the way issues are going and have been finding for substitute. I only do no longer see the elections of '06 as something having to do with the abortion undertaking. in actuality, we've rules in result precise now regardless of if human beings like it or no longer. Arguing approximately what's already a regulation, isn't smart to me.

We expect little compromise from a party that, as a minority, filibustered the president's appointees. That was unprecedented in the history of the United States. As a majority party, it would not surprise us if they change the senate rules so we can not filibuster at all.

I think you won't even start to really understand anything about US politics until you stop with the stereotypes. Think like a human being not a "dem" "con" or "other"

The way I see it, conservative republicans have had several years now to get their points across and "fix" this country. They've failed. Let's give the liberal democrats a try.

Oh, the neocons will cry that they are being bullied into submission though they were doing that for six years.
When one party gets too much power, it perpetuates a bad situation. I would hope the Democrats have learned for the GOP mistakes and not repeat them, but power does bad things to people.
