It is uncertain as to whether or not the "troop surge" that was decided on a few months ago is working. Actually, that surge may only be starting to take effect as those added troops have only just arrived.

But if the commanders of our forces should need more troops after that, would you support a decision to send more?

My thinking is that we should either make a real effort to achieve victory in Iraq or don't bother at all. There is no sense in just applying band-aids to this hemmoraging situation. So if we need 50,000 more troops for a victory that is actually possible, then why not go for it?

I say we either do that, or just get out altogether.

We do not want the greatest foreign policy blunder in American history to be a war that we lose. And we do not want the consequences of abandoning this war to be left to be genocide, or an ongoing war for others to fight and endure.

Your thoughts?

They are already breaking ranks with the president over Iraq, and they know if they have any hope of getting re-elected, they need to support a change in course for the war. Will the last few conservatives left in support of the war call them traitors?

It seems to me that History tells us that their love of materiality, war and themselves do not serve the interest of the American people....

In doubt? take the example of the banking arrangements between Hitler and a particular bank led by a particular family... I call no names, but we all know who was funding Hitler whilst American troops were being prepared for war.

issuing orders to former aides not to testify in front of Congress?

There is absolutely no way that anything connected with these firings should be classified top secret, or that the release of such information would endanger the country. The President answers to the people of this country. So when the people of this country - through their representation in Congress - demand information that does not jeopardize national security, how dare he think he does not have to provide it?

And how dare Sara Taylor claim she took an oath to protect the President?????

She took an oath to protect the Constitution, not that dumbass George Bush.

I understand that illegal immigration is complex, but it is not as complex as the politicians in Washington want to make it appear. We support legal immigration. We oppose illegal immigration. To call those who oppose amnesty and illegal immigration bigots is beyond ridiculous! And if they cannot understand that, we need some new leaders in Washington. I think congress is trying to make this more complicated than it is to divide us further..........but I think both sides will hold firm-thoughts?
