Slow thinking. Likely a Kansas board of education type school system. There are some people that just dont get to rational conclusions as quickly as others.

Two words political pressure. Whether they agree or not they are listening to the people. It is the same reason the war was started in the first place at the time it is what Americans wanted. Most people post-9/11 agreed with the war in Iraq (dems and Reps) check the vote. It is just now as a country we have become war weary as happens with all long lasting wars and people want to see an end regardless of the consequences. I think we should ask the military what they think instead of armchair quarterbacking from our air conditioned homes watching them fight and die on TV.

My stand has not changed and what you site as facts are nothing more than trivial hog-wash.
The only thing "Illegal" about the war is that it's the U.S. lead coalition and not the U.N..
Dead Americans? We're not the only ones dying there. And for the record, we're still averaging a loss of about 2.4 per day. To help you put things into proper perspective, General George S. Patton, Jr. while leading th U.S. 3d Army through France in 1944 (post D-Day invasion) lost on average 83 men per day. This, going up against a uniformed, easily identifiable, organized military that did not hide behind the skirts of women and smiles of children -- unlike our current enemy.
Enrichment of a few? Child, in case you haven't noticed, the world economy runs on oil. Part of being an elected official (by law), is that you divest all of your stock holdings prior to taking office. Sen. Waxman (D-Ca.) has been "investigating" the current administration for well over two years now. Do you honestly think that if he'd found something, he'd have kept it to himself?
Moral High Ground? "What?!!! "I did not have relations with that girl..." "...I did not have SEX with THAT girl!" "...define 'IS'..." And how many terrorists from Puerto Rico did Clinton pardon? Moral high ground?
Perhaps you should try a little more critical thinking and a litle less "feeling" and the old, high school mentality of "we're more popuar than you are! Neener! Neener! Neener!!!" Popularity means nothing in the real world.

First, let's re-establish the facts:
- The war was started to take down an evil murdering dictator, who after 10+ years, wouldn't work with the UN
- The war is not illegal. The only way to go to war is for the Congress to approve it. Don't forget - both Dems and Reps voted for this war. Clinton, Gore, Hillary, all spoke about how evil Saddam was and how he needed to be removed.
- The Americans have died to protect freedom. Freedom for the Iraqis and freedom (and security) for the American citizens. Considering that you're probably a lib, I could see how you might think freedom is worth nothing...
What has yet to be done is re-establish a legitimate Iraqi government. What you claim (changing minds) is actually the Americans getting tough on the new Iraqi government to start taking command of their government. It's working but takes time.
The liberal press (and most Americans) don't have patience. It takes time to establish a new government. The great country we have wasn't built in a few months....
Stop listening to the free-love, PC hippies and start loving your country. We are doing great things in Iraq. The media just doesn't want to show the good the US is doing....
Try supporting your country just once....

what you are ignoring is that conservatives see the threat and want our future to be safe , being against the way they are running the war and wanting to retreat to see how fast the radicals can get to America is 2 different things .
Explain to me how this is an illegal war , and how you can justify stating that there are dead americans for nothing when they are the ones that are there and have the facts and support the war . You can't ignore the fact that the majoriy of the people fighting and involved in the war suport it , but you do for some reason , that reason is that you are a closed minded liberal who can't grasp reality and history

So many conservatives, are now against the war? That is news to me. I wish I were in the part of the country you are from. Where I come from they are still adhering to the same “Stay the Course” mantra. You wouldn’t think that many conservatives are changing their mind about the war if you listen to conservative talk radio or Fox News. Sure a few right wing politicians have come out to vocalize dissent about the war, because they know it is political advantageous for them to do so, for the next election season, so they can obtain the vote of some in the left.
For the most part, I think most conservatives are quiet about the war, because it is an embarrassing mistake, but their pride deters them from vocalizing that they were wrong. They may even go so far to admit that our reasons for going into Iraq are dubious, but that our continued presence there, until we rectify the mess, is essential to our national security. Don’t look for the delusional to make an about face that easily.

Some republicans in washington have to distance themselves from the president and the white house's policy because the liberal media and democrats are on a anti-conservative anti-war rampage. They have been since after the Iraq war. It doesnt mean that is how they personally feel.
Illegal before whom? The US is a sovereign nation.
Enrichment of a few million Iraqis! How would you like to have lived under Saddam?
The only people that destroy our morality is liberals advocating ungodly things like abortion and gay marriage, and advocating our defeat during a time of war.
How???????

How can we trust you when you sound like an Al Qaida recruiter? Since you seem so certain that this is all a great waste - why don't you go to Iraq and tell that to the folks with boots on the ground instead of hiding behind an avatar and spewing out baseless statements? A couple of politicians with their eyes on their political future don't constitute "so many conservatives." And its not "Bush's War" - it is America's War which means it belongs to all of us - left, middle and right.

Like who? The one or two senators yahoo parades around? The only Republicans who have changed positions are those needing to win in November. FACT. The facts of why we're at war haven't changed, so why should my position? I don't jump ship when the going gets tough, that's for the liberals.
The reason we're still going after 4 years is because this country REFUSED to unite. It instead attacked our President for what? Being George Bush! You NEVER occupied the moral high ground, how dare you say you ever did.
Is this the same group of high grounders who did nothing when another President lied under oathe? Oh wait, that was a democrat. Nevermind. I find it comically how you guys pretend to be holy-er than the holy-holy almighty, and yet time and time again your wrong, wrong, wrong.

They are feeling the heat from those who voted for them. Then they look at the poles. 28% Bush,,,,18% Cheney. With those kind of approval ratings, they are jumping ship. And it's more than a couple of cong's. As of this morning, it was 17.
