They are already breaking ranks with the president over Iraq, and they know if they have any hope of getting re-elected, they need to support a change in course for the war. Will the last few conservatives left in support of the war call them traitors?

Yes. Cowardice in the face of the enemy is a crime punishable by execution in the military. Too bad our congressmen are'nt subject to the same rules.

Not the traditional, moderate conservatives. The driving force behind Bush has always been the oil industry, the military-industrial complex, and especially the neo-cons and the end-times evangelists. Anyone who interferes with their very unchristian rush toward the Apocalypse is a traitor in their twisted, blaspheming eyes.

Nope, he has shown he won't hear to the yank people. Now he needs to attend on a Sept. document till now any action is taken. The impeachment of Bush and Cheney is the only process action for Democrats. no longer one extra would desire to die in Iraq.

The question is can congress force him to bring home the troops. My guess is they would have to re-peal the authority they gave him with a veto proof vote

Sure, why not? Regardless of party, if you're working towards the defeat of your country in wartime, 'traitor' isn't an entirely unfair characterization. It hasn't hurt the Democrats any. Maybe it'll get more of them re-elected. Traitors seem to be popular at the moment. Really, savvy politicians should be jumping on the bandwagon, and thier rivals should be trying to head them off.

I hope so. But I doubt it. Republicans can change their minds without being called flip-floppers. They simply say it never happened. Like when Cheney said the Iraqis cause 9-11 and had WMDs. Now he said he never said that. Just change the facts and you're never a hypocrite. Vote for a true American REPUBLICAN: Ron Paul.

They framed it that way, so lets see if they'll cut and run from their own name calling.

We were weak when we were few, but now the anti-war movement is STRONG, our ranks joined by staunch Republicans like Lugar, Dole, Voinovich, Snowe, Hagel and Domenici.

Warner is set to announce his break with Bush on Thursday!!
