The people who told you Al Gore said that were lying to you.
He pushed through funding that made it possible. That's true, and that's what he (fumblingly) said.
Does that mean you will no longer believe what the liars who told you that said?
He's not lying about global warming either, he's listening to scientists who actually know what they're talking about.
Whether a person has lied doesn't mean that every statement they make is a lie.
It means you can't take that person's word, by itself.
Given that the evidence is irrefutable, it's reasonable to accept that global warming is happening.
Of course, some people refuse to listen to reason or evidence.
They would rather listen to proven liars.

As MANY people correctly pointed out, Al Gore never said that. Al Gore's statement was correct - that he funded what eventually became the internet. Not invented - funded.
" I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

As for global warming, forget about Al Gore. If you don't trust him, then ignore him. Go read what scientists have discovered - that humans are the primary cause of the acceleration of global warming over the past 40-50 years:

In fact, yesterday it was revealed that the very last alternative explanations to human-caused global warming were disproven. Now the only remaining explanation is that humans are the primary cause:

I don't know about Global Warming I think they would rename that to 'Global Weather Change" if they had their others
Gore said the sea would rise 22 feet in a bbok but he meant 22 inches --- but never mentions that mistake - source "Daily Show" ( Which favors Dems )
It is not obvious about the warming and that has led to a lot of people debating the issue -- and distracting from it
Global weather change is A certainty.
Just like around - drought in almost every state - this year -
we will likely go from 0 hurricanes to at least three,
and if there are none again that too is a sign of a planet wide weather factory that has gone haywire

Al Gore never claimed to have created the Internet, he did claim to have a large part in facilitating it, a fact which even the original "creator" of the Internet base admitted openly. Some functionally illiterate people as well as right wing republicans have perpetrated a lie through misrepresenting his statement. The truth is that the majority of Americans seem to fear a man whose intellect is powerful, preferring to maintain a mediocrity of mind - so you have Bush and the neocons, congratulations you have what you deserve!

Its not global warming any more, its climate change. Doesn't that sound better??? Anyway, even if he is right NOBODY can tell me what we're suppose to do exactly to stop it??? I don't see Gore giving up anything. The Republicans are using terrorism for political gain and the democrats now have global warming. Excuses to tax the living SH&T out of you, that's all.

Al Gore never claimed to have invented the Internet. That's just the way his words were interpreted to make him look ridiculous by conservative opponents.
What he said was that he was instrumental in funding projects which lead to the creation of what would later become the Internet. And he was. But that was too complicated for Dubya. So he just lied and said Gore claimed to have invented the Internet.

I'll credit Mr Gore with a typical "Bushism" on that one. Although he didn't "create" the Internet, his work was critical in getting the government to realize the benefits of it and he was a key player in the efforts in making the Internet available to the public. So, it's not a lie, but a mis-spoken phrase that referred to a true act. (Had he made the same verbal mis-step 5 years earlier, everyone would nod approvingly and say, "Oh yeah, I remember that!")
Why aren't you so hard on Mr Bush as well? He's stepped on his tongue so many thousands of times there are DVDs full of them for sale all over the place.

Actually, he never did lie about that.
The creators of the internet have chimed in and said that Al Gore did more than any US politician to get arpnet to become a public service, ie, the internet. Which is exactly what Gore claimed.
His claim was correct.
It's you lie repeating right wing tools that need a little correction.
