I'd probably have to go with instigating a global thermonuclear war. Just because there's nothing else significant one could accomplish in a single day.

People like Sandy Burger caught in corruption scandals can never again hold public office. If any politician caught in corruption, automatic lifetime ban.
And child molesters recieve the death penalty. (and we speed up the process)
All detainees caught in terrorist activities after been interogated are automatically executed. (as the law provides)
Abortion illegal. Unborn babies deserve the right to live even regardless of any religious arguments.

Enact Martial law, so that I could get more things done. There is no way to solve poverty, healthcare or education in a day.

i would go for world wide health care and a mandatory peace pact for every country/state
