Let's ask if we really need to be asking this question. . . . or .. . .is it worthy of asking ?

What Is The NEED to Have More Openly Gay People In The Media In The First Place ?. . . . I thought news was news and certainly YOUR station isn't biased , now is it ?

I Guess I Never Thought About It But . .. . .I Don't Think About Whether Someone Is Gay Or Not When Reading The News .. . . .. . . . I Think About Whether They're Truthful Or Not . .. Don't You ?

BTW , just in case you haven't figured it out yet , the above question was posted by Yahoo . . . . And some obvious Special Interest Group .

What The ...... ?

Clear Bias ? Or Not ?

Have you hugged a liberal today?

Some 45% of all Republicans report being very happy, compared with just 30% of Democrats and 29% of independents. This finding has also been around a long time; Republicans have been happier than Democrats every year since the General Social Survey began taking its measurements in 1972. Pew surveys since 1991 also show a partisan gap on happiness; the current 16 percentage point gap is among the largest in Pew surveys, rivaled only by a 17 point gap in February 2003.
Could it be that Republicans are so much happier now because their party controls all the levers of federal power? Not likely. Since 1972, the GOP happiness edge over Democrats has ebbed and flowed in a pattern that appears unrelated to which party is in political power.
For example, Republicans had up to a 10 and 11 percentage point happiness edge over Democrats in various years of both the Carter and Clinton presidencies, and as small as a three and five percentage point edge in various years of the Reagan and first Bush presidencies. Also, we should explain here a bit about how our survey questionnaire was constructed. The question about happiness was posed at the very beginning of the interview, while the question about political affiliation was posed at the back end, along with questions about demographic traits. So respondents were not cued to consider their happiness through the frame of partisan politics. This question is about happiness; it is not a question about happiness with partisan outcomes.
Of course, there's a more obvious explanation for the Republicans' happiness edge. Republicans tend to have more money than Democrats, and -- as we've already discovered -- people who have more money tend to be happier.
But even this explanation only goes so far. If one controls for household income, Republicans still hold a significant edge: that is, poor Republicans are happier than poor Democrats; middle-income Republicans are happier than middle-income Democrats, and rich Republicans are happier than rich Democrats.
Might ideology be the key? It's true that conservatives, who are more likely to be Republican, are happier than liberals, who are more likely to be Democrats. But even controlling for this ideological factor, a significant partisan gap remains. Conservative Republicans are happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate/liberal Republicans are happier than liberal Democrats. Hmmm, what other factors might be at play? Well, there's always...

for the past six years and congress for eleven before the past mid-term elections? Where is the party of responsibility and what is their part in this mess we now have? I blame democrats for not having enough balls to stand up to our President and risk being called un-American for voting to support him with Iraq but what about the rest? Open borders and ports, huge deficits both national and trade, millions of illegals even after the Reagan act in 86' to stop the illegals, signing statements to get around the rule of law, hapeus corpus suspended, torture, Abu Garhaib, Osama Bin Laden and on and on. Where is the responsibility?

...I'm wondering will anyone really vote "no" and defend their vote? It sure sounds nice in theory, but in reality if forced to die for their country the amount of the willing drops drastically.

I know that a common phrase among hippies was "there is nothing worth dying for." I want to see if we have any of those on this forum and, if so, see their reasoning.

I'm just saying that very many will say "yes" but of those many few will be willing to carry it out if opportunity arose. Only a minority, mostly extreme, will say that there is nothing worth dying for, and even then they are probably lying to themselves.

Why is it that we American’s refuse to change our primary source of fuel? We are completely dependent on oil! Imagine if all of the money that we are using to make sure we have allies in the Middle East went to our farmers to grow corn for ethanol or develop a specific farming technique to grow specific wood for Methanol. We would not be bending over backwards for countries that are in such turmoil. It would be somewhat hard to hold the US over the preverbal barrel if we could say, “we really don’t need that much oil and we don’t have to deal with you!”

Yes, I know most of you believe that we are there to help bring democracy to an unstable region. My opinion it is so we as a nation can import oil with ease with these nations. My understanding is that these are the top 10 nations that America imports oil from:
1. Canada
2. Mexico
3. Saudi Arabia
4. Venezuela
5. Nigeria
6. Angola
7. Iraq
8. Algeria
9. United Kingdom
10. Brazil

If we didn’t have to deal with 3 of which have unstable governments and 1 that has a questionable government, how much better off would we be economically and ecologically. So, why allow us to be so dependent on oil?

To answer this question please explain what you would tell your 16 year old child about divorce .
Here are the circumstances . An affair has happened ending in an STD being transferred to the innocent partner .
Do you use this as a tool to teach your kids about safe sex and honesty in a relationship . That if a partner wants to fulfill some sexual need outside the current relationship it is up to them to tell the other partner and not keep it a secret .

Do you hide this fact and say mommy and daddy love you and we have decided to live apart from now on . You will still see mommy/daddy just not everyday .
