Both sides are beating their drums and clanging their cymbals as loudly as they can, but they aren't changing anyone's mind on the other side.

Could it be more than the opposition simply refusing to hear your views? Maybe they CAN'T hear what you say.

Perhaps fundamental parts of how we reason are genetically coded, and there is variability in the 'reasoning genes' throughout the human population. Most people's 'logical wiring' works similarly, thus the idea of 'common sense'. But there are smaller groups whose reasoning works differently. Arguments that make 'natural sense' to one such group could literally be gibberish to another.

This could explain the remarkable endurance of certain conflicts, and why certain groups, like pro-life and pro-choice, seem to be permanently enmeshed in arguments with no seeming resolution.

The good news is we have higher facilities of reasoning, and can overcome our flawed programming through education and intellectual honesty.

A Bin Laden family entourage of 25 people were here on 9/11 to watch the big show. Coincidence? Bush let them fly out of the country, denying the FBI the chance to interview them. Do you wish Bush had the plane knocked out of the sky?

Congress just passed their energy bill through the senate. It still needs 2 more steps to become law. It passed a 29 billion dollar tax increase on oil companies. Guess what, that tax is passed squarely onto you, the consumer,

Gas jumped 15 cents in my town in the last 6 hours.

Did it jump up anywhere else?

Micheal Moore's Sicko

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I couldnt find any threads about the film, sorry in advance if there are/were

June 29, in theatres, do you plan on seeing it?

I for one am looking forward to it. I've seen a few interviews with Moore and think this movie may be the wake up call America needs, or it could go in a totally opposite direction and be a flop that few people see. Either way, it does deal with a problem. My mother was watching Oprah (no flames, lol) a few weeks ago and Moore was on, so I decided to watch. In that interview, Moore shared a few individual people's story. One woman, who was diagnosed with brain cancer, i believe it was, could not get coverage for a new treatment that didnt involve chemotherapy. It was revealed she died a year later.
But another thing that shocks me is that how volenteers during 9/11 could not get help for many physical and respiration problems they developed while working near the pile of rubble Twin Towers.

Lets say Israel decided it's land mass was too small

And they want to take over the US

Siunce they are gods people then They represent GOD right

So would you all just pack up and move out ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Half the world is under the impression they are god's sacred people and the other half seem to think they are all just really bad

Here is somthing I would like to see

Israel is a nation made up of people - Not gods not the devil People who have the same nature as the rest of us capable of the same good and the same bad -
Capable of mistakes big and small
Capable of luck good and bad etc
--------------------------------------------
But if you support them based on the fact the bible says somthing about them - a book written a long time ago full of errors and so on
I guess you'd just grab your bag and say hey Honey we gotta go God's people want our State

Socialist Russians. Look what happened to them.
Do you want that to happen to us?
I need support. Ways to somehow make a difference, join a group, be a true American.
Hopefully, without getting killed in a fit of socialist rage.
America is turning, creating a new, violent, mob style Pax Americana.
This is true:
The Ballad of Carl Drega, by Vin Suprynowicz
Dumbing us Down, by John Taylor Gatto
Just read, learn, look what's happening.
If you don't? If you deny what's happening? If you go back to your unchallenging lives?
In the immortal words of Pastor Niemoller:
"By the time they came for me, there was no one left to speak up."
Speak up now and save America from tyranny.
Leave a comment. A suggestion. Anything.
And if you're a liberal or a socialist, don't bother to answer, because I will shoot your answer down. It doesn't belong here.

REPORT: The Right Wing Domination Of Talk Radio And How To End It
The Center for American Progress and Free Press today released the first-of-its-kind statistical analysis of the political make-up of talk radio in the United States. It confirms that talk radio, one of the most widely used media formats in America, is dominated almost exclusively by conservatives.

The new report — entitled “The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio” — raises serious questions about whether the companies licensed to broadcast over the public radio airwaves are serving the listening needs of all Americans.

While progressive talk is making inroads on commercial stations, right-wing talk reigns supreme on America’s airwaves. Some key findings:

– In the spring of 2007, of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners, 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming was conservative, and only 9 percent was progressive.

– Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations compared to 254 hours of progressive talk — 10 times as much conservative talk as progressive talk.

– 76 percent of the news/talk programming in the top 10 radio markets is conservative, while 24 percent is progressive.

When ever I watch politcal coverage on national news or online, they always rate a candidates chances of winning by how much money they have raised. Now, with the extremely vast audience the Internet has, a candidate can reach out to scores of millions from just one interview or rally. So is being the highest grossing candidate really all that important anymore?

2007-06-21 17:25:23 · 12 answers · asked by Anonymous

We'll scrap the current list of candidates and entertain the world with classic 70's sitcom hijinks! But which pair will be the 'crats and which the 'publickins?

Not just a one-quote response.
Example:
"I think if you say you're going to do something, and then don't do it, that's trustworthiness."
I want real ones, not fakes.
P.S. Bush isn't SO bad, just a sinfully awful public speaker.
