The proof is in what they report and how they report it! Plus you can look at which party the journalists contribute money to, and by a difference of 9 to 1, they contribute to the liberal democrats! Plus the owners of the stations have been proven to be liberals!

What more do you need??? I bet if they blatantly came out and said they were liberal and reported on a liberal bias, that liberals still wouldn't admit it!!

The word "neocons" is a misnomer. There is nothing "new" about conservatives.

The neocons have already proved that the mainstream media is Leftist. They said so, didn't they? And the mainstream media has proved that the neocon media is right-wing because they said it is.

So much for that.

Let's say you are a liberal and I am a conservative (or vice versa). You make a statement that reflects YOUR (in this case liberal) view on a particular subject. I respond by saying you are a stupid, left-wing kook.

There is nothing hypothetical about the above. If you say something I don't agree with, you are stupid. I don't need to offer a counter argument; an ad hominem attack will do fine.

Is it any wonder we are so divided?

I learned a valuable lesson many years ago. I was much more conservative then than I am now. Some of my very best friends were VERY liberal. I valued them much more than I valued my own views, so I just listened to what they had to say. As a result, I began to subscribe to some of their views, and they began to subscribe to some of mine. We are devoted friends to this day.

There are two kinds of arguments: Those that are empirical and those that are subjective. If you say the population of Rhode Island is greater than that of California, I can PROVE you are wrong. If you say spanking children is wrong, I can only tell you that I think it is okay (if I believe that).

Why is it that so many people believe that anyone who disagrees with them is an idiot or a "left-wing/right-wing" zealot?

I think Rodney King asked a very important question some years ago: "Why can't we just get along?"

Any objective observation makes it clear that all those stations have a leftist bias in their news reporting. It's also fair to say that Fox News is heavily influenced by the right. However, they are all Corporate owned so only a fool denies that ultimately, the right of the people to know takes a back seat to profits.

In a recent poll of regular news watchers:

3% of respondents could point to Kabul on a map.

96% had seen Brittany's .. um.. you know..

America's Corporate Media does more damage to this country than any political party, group, politician or foreign power.

Is this the liberal media that was so obsessed with Lewinski?
The same liberal media that reported for 3 years that Saddam had WMDs until after the 2004 elections?
The same liberal media that didn't mention Cheney outing a CIA operative until after the 2004 elections?
It doesn't matter if a reporter votes Democratic. What matters is that the media moguls who run the media are wealthy Republicans with few exceptions. Reporters will do what they're told.

Maybe you should read that and get back to us when you have some proof they aren't.

From the article:

MSNBC.com identified 144 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 17 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties.

When the media loses it bias against our politicians, you know they are getting their stories straight from the white house, and your freedom of speech is only a charade.

the right cry about it, but then they cry about just the opposite when Chavez does it. They are never happy, because world events aren't right-wing biased.

it's true, mainstream is neither. 24 hour news networks are filled with pundits from either side hammering talking points and hot air into our heads while covering trivial stories such as paris hilton and anna nicole smith lol.

first, the neocons include idiots like trent lott and gw bush. they dont speak for me, and i am absolutely positive that the media is to the left based on watching tv news and reading print media for years.

liberals dont think there is a bias because they are incredibly arrogant and think that all of their opinions are gospel and not to be disputed. that anyone would call the reporting of people who are clearly liberals, 'biased' stuns those who think that brian williams and NPR present only the rationally-objective word of God.

the burden of proof is on people who say it is not biased by liberals.

it always seemed to me that the media was "against" whoever was president at the time...

they drug Clinton through the mud and back again...

and are pretty much doing the same to Bush...which to some makes them seem "bias"

but, I think it's their job to be critical of the elected officials... when they get all nice, then I'll get worried...

Yes, the media is leftist. It's also right-ist. There is no neutral, logical, factual, nospin, rational media.

There's so much spin in the media that I'm dizzy. Fox particularly. The O'Reilly Factor comes to mind..."No Spin Zone?" Yeah, right.
