Moneta_Lucena, hit the nail on the head LilDebunker! Her understanding of the CONNECTION interlinking socialism/communisim/fascism COULD NOT have been made more clear! Fascism is DEFFINANTLY alive & well in America, just in a more muted/mundane state than the maxxed out "adolph & ben variety" we have become so accustomed too of Germanic/Italiano infamy! The politicians(magicians!) of THE republocrat party would never tell you something like..."sure you own YOUR real estate as long as you PAY YOUR taxes WE LEVY on it TO US & have YOUR papers(permits etc.) all IN ORDER! After all, it's YOUR property not THEIR"S is'nt it LilDebunker? Is'nt it? I mean THEY told us it's ours, IF....IF...IF....

The Republicans all started the taxation with the aid of WWI, and then prolonged it via from WWII. i might think of with the help of now those 2 wars could have been paid for. the only factor FDR set up develop into Social protection fund that the Republicans have robbed from returned and returned in the time of the years. I certainly have considered the action picture too and it poses a number of info that deliver approximately the super melancholy interior the 1st place. it particularly is the place united statesa. is headed returned basically as quickly because of the fact the dollar dissolves which that's doing out of the country to the Euro, and from the ridiculous Bush deficit and loans from China. The inventory industry will crash leaving each and every of the millionaire traders broke because of the fact their wealth is barely on paper.

Yes, I saw it. Was a real eye opener about how the country is run. The segment on the income tax was great. But remember unless you can get lots of people to stop paying you'll end up like Irwin Schiff and be in prison for several years. The rest of you that haven't seen it need to.

What people fail to realize is the close connection between socialism/communism/fascism.

We are on a bad road, via the socialist doctrine that has infiltrated our government and citizens through liberal idealism.

On this day we have opened the door to the "fairness doctrine," once again. This in itself is an effort for government to act on behalf of its citizens, because we don't know what is good for ourselves.

Once socialism has hold, the next step is communism, thereby bringing in fascism in the form of a dictator.

If you are truly concerned with fascism, then look to quashing the socialist agenda in our government.

If America was a Fascist country, don't you think we would have more restrictions. Ask any 80 year old german person and they will tell you about fascism. Or is this just a Google employee spreading Google propoganda for a sucky search engine.

I saw it. You may wish to post the link for the web-challenged.

It exaggerates a bit..."this will lead to that which will lead to that..."

I would say it makes some valid points. I would also encourage everyone who sees it to NOT turn against our government, but to act accordingly by voting, writing legislation, and otherwise acting like patriotic Americans.

I would also encourage them to get a bit more background on the Federal Reserve than the populist nonsense out there. If you are only getting one side of the story, well, you're only getting half the story!

I'd also encourage them to fight socialism EVERY CHANCE THEY GET!

dont need to watch it.. i already get it, another liberal propaganda movie that paints america as a bad guy... whoa theres a new thought.. sheesh

you do get it that there are political factions out there..even in are own country that believe in a socialistic society. they try to work in all areas including tv and movies to pass on a mindset that america is heading in a bad bad bad direction, because they want to weaken the current system, it doesnt matter if the current system works or is bad or not.. they want power plain and simple. So they thrust these movies at us to show us how bad america is.

Yes, I saw it. As a liberatarian and a person who loves documentaries, I was hoping for great things.

But I was very disappointed. I found the film to be intellectually dishonest and a vehicle for the filmmaker to further his political beliefs with blatant misformation. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and educate the viewer. This one doesn't.

But don't take my word for it.

From the NY Times:

"Facts Refute Filmmaker’s Assertions on Income Tax in ‘America’"

"...examination of the assertions in Mr. Russo’s documentary.. shows... they ... collapse under the weight of fact."

"Many of the reviews in major newspapers have accepted as having some factual basis the film’s main contention, ... even though every court that has ever ruled on these issues has upheld the constitutionality of the income tax.

"... Mr. Russo says ...that the Internal Revenue Service has refused every request to show any law making Americans liable for an income tax on their wages. ... Yet among those thanked in the credits for their help in making the film is Anthony Burke, an I.R.S. spokesman. Mr. Burke said that when Mr. Russo called him asking what law required the payment of income taxes on wages, he sent Mr. Russo a link to documents, including Title 26 of the United States Code, citing the specific sections that require income taxes be paid on wages. Title 26 says on its face that it is law enacted by Congress."

"..Arguments made in court that the income tax is invalid are so baseless that Congress has authorized fines of $25,000 for anyone who makes them..."

"... Mr. Russo says in the film that the 16th Amendment was never properly ratified and thus a tax on wages is unconstitutional. This claim has been made in various forms by thousands of tax protesters since 1913, and so far their batting average with the courts is .000.
To buttress the claim that the 16th Amendment is invalid, the film displays a quotation from a federal district judge, James C. Fox. But the transcript from which the judge’s words were taken shows that while he spoke those words, they were in the context of laying out issues and that the conclusion he reached was the opposite of the words quoted."

The filmmaker Aaron Russo is part of a movement often called "tax protestors" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_protester ) A more accurate term would be "tax law deniers". They surround themselves in dubious legal claims that thrive within their community, but fall short in the courts.
