I have expressed the same sentiments as "stony" on more than one occasion but what I would really like to know is, what efforts are being made to track down Ossama and his henchman at this time. The problem with that is that for security reasons we cannot be told about it until some success is achieved. I just hope we do not find out that nothing is being done because that would make a complete mockery of all that has been said and all the lives that have been lost. It really would prove that the war for oil theory is correct.

Thorgirl, that is a woefully simplistic answer and the analogies you envoke are inaccurate. You can call it a war or whatever else you want, the title you give it makes no difference. The Bush administration screwed up soooo bad on this thing if it wasn't so tragic it would be laughable. Just what the hell do you expect when you invade another country, no matter how despotic the regime, and plant your troops on their soil? For Christ's sake, what would you do? I'd kill every one of the SOB's I could.

The nation of Iraq WAS supporting terrorists and it was believed by most Nations that they had nuclear capabilities.
But the primary reason that I believe we were correct in invading Iraq was tat they invaded Kuwait. Yes; we were still at war with Iraq from the initial invasion. We were in a cease fire situation. Iraq refused to comply with the terms of the cease fire and we went in; correctly and lawfully.

It saddens me to say that I agree with the above poster Maxx. There has been only one war with Iraq and it started when Iraq first invaded Kuwait. George W. Bush's historical legacy will be partly based on his escalation of the Iraq war, not for having started it.
I was against the Iraq war when it started in 1990 and my opinion hasn't yet changed.

I don't think we should have entered Iraq.
I think our focus should have been on finding Osama and everyone else in Al Qaeda and rendering them harmless before they could recruit more terrorists and gain any widespread support for their cause. We could have done that by now. Instead, like an entire country afflicted with ADD, we went after Saddam Hussein, possibly the only person in the world who was a bigger idiot than George W. Bush.

Never supported GWB pre-emption on Iraq. However, our military has a commander and chief that has ordered them to war (right or wrong) and they are there; I am supporting their efforts to work and safely come home, and hold accountable our president for their deaths and for the military not having the proper tools to keep as safe as they could have always been. I hope our men and women make it home and that this president pays for what he created. In the end, what goes around comes around.

Dearie I am Over here and believe me the war was over in weeks. The rebuilding and stabilization of the Government is made tough by outside money and Insurgents from Syria and Iran. Imagine if During the 1967 riots in the USA if the Soviets and China sent in billions in aid and suicide bombers. Think If England and France had given aid to the south during the American Civil war would the north have won? To call it Illegal is a real slap in the face the USA bends over 6 ways to make sure we are doing it by the book even though it costs American Lives, So Please as My Brothers Die around me Here do to the restrictive ROE ( which is more dangerous than IED's) Please never call it Illegal!

Then you should leave.
The world is mean nasty and jealous, it wants what we have and it uses your sensibilities and morality and arrogance against you.
No matter what the situation is in Iraq the region is to important to the world to allow it to become the strong hold of those that would use its resources to cripple and take over the rest of the world. That is the Islamic Fascists goal whether you choose to face it or not.
You are a slave to your guilt and you will be exploited to the detriment of your fellow citizens.
My perspective of course. Because you asked.

You know why Bush doesn't help or subdue places like North Korea? Because those Commies have nothing to offer. Iraq, on the other hand, is rich in his number one money making pursuit... oil.
