Why is it the woman's choice whether or not to terminate the pregnancy? She agreed to the actions that create the baby, but when it comes time to paying for the consequence, how come it is solely her choice? Why is it that the father can't decide to keep it he he so chooses?

lltrix - why have sex, isn't the purpose of it to make babies? if it's for pleasure, go get a toy!

you can have the relationship without sex - whether or not I am a virgin is none of your concern. If a woman can agree to have sex, knowing what can happen, why should she be given the option to kill the baby that is created?

Intimacy is created with one night stands . . . I am not saying that making babies is the ONLY purpose for sex, but last I checked, that is the way that babies are made (naturally). I am a woman and am for equal rights . . . all of that good stuff, but EQUALITY is key. Just because it's our egg, and our body does not mean that the child is ours alone. IT TAKES A MAN AND A WOMAN TO CREATE A BABY! Why should just one have the ultimate say on whether or not the child dies?!?!

Exactly! Fathers need more rights! It's time the laws change. My friend lost his baby because some selfish girl killed it! He already had baby clothes bought! Women who have abortions are selfish murderers!

It's kind of odd that people make the statement " they had sex so now the baby is on the way and they want an abortion". I guess no one here has heard of women getting raped and becoming pregnant. Or that "her father or brother abused and now she is pregnant". Also the one no one wants to say. Some people should not have children. I am a man and I support the fact that a woman has become pregnant and wants to deal with it her way whatever that maybe(having the child or not). I am also a father. I also have a personal statement to the question asker her. Forgive my English. (Yes I am a citizen -born and raised in the US). But anyway her goes to the asker of this question. "Not all women agreed to the act." Only narrow minded people see things one way. Life does not go the same way for everyone. People travel different roads. Don't judge all by the roads you have traveled.

because the father doesn't have to carry the fetus, deliver it, pay for the prenatal and labor, take time off work, risk his health, ect
its the woman's body that is effected. no man should ever tell a female what to do with her body.
if a man is against abortion, he shouldn't sleep with a woman who is not opposed to having one.

consenting to sex is not consenting to parenthood.

sex is natural and does produce children in some cases. but it has many positive physical and mental effects. it can bring people closer and make a relationship better. its a biological urge. people just need to use good forms of birthcontrol and hope they aren't in the small percent that can't use BC- I don't know what to say to those people, I feel sorry for them.

men get a raw deal but so do women- if they have the pregnancy they face the issues and risks not the man.

The male part of this transaction has no say because he doesn't carry the baby for 9 months, give birth to it and be responsible for it for 20 years.

Until the male species grows a uterus that is cabable of the same thing, men have no say in the deal.

What the male IS responsible for is to use a condom when he decides to hop someones' bones. They all enjoy the dance but cry like a baby when it's time to pay the piper.

Why do you think that just because a person has sex that they should have the baby? Why do you think sex is only for creating babies, which is what you are saying with this logic. It is her choice because it is her body that carries it. And, it is her body that suffers from carrying it and it is her life that is threatened if somehow the pregnancy goes wrong (toximia for example), or diabetes brought on by pregnancy. You do know that pregnancy is still one of the biggest killers of women don't you? And, it is she who has to take care of it 99% of the time. As soon as the father can carry it to term then he can have the choice to put his health and life at risk. But more men than not tend to run away.

EDIT: You must be a virgin. Because you would have never equated having sex with a live human as the same as using a 'toy'. Ever heard of intimacy and desire or even a relationship between 2 people? It's a human need just like food and water. And, no, sex is NOT just for making babies.

Until a man is able to be pregnant and give birth then his choice will matter.

Pregnancy is wonderful, but it can be terrifying at the same time. There are so many complications with pregnancy and the man will never suffer one of them. So he forces a woman to go through these complications and risk dying just to please him?

If the woman wants to give him the child then that is fine. However, she shouldn't be forced to do something against her will especially something that involves risking her health.

I think that abortion is wrong, but I will never force a woman to give birth if she doesn't want to. It's HER body and not mine.

Because Its the Womans Body.... no matter which way you look at it.

If a guy wants to have a kid so bad, then he should hire a surrogate mother to have his child...or adopt, but there will never be a day to come that a guy will have the authority over a womans authority over her own body...gimme a break

Roe v. Wade

Because a lot of the time once he heard she was pregnant he was gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne. I f he was a responsible human being and it was me I might let him use "my" body to incubate his child and then once it was born he would have to take it. There are some men out there that would do this, but there are not a whole lot.

Don't we have enough dead-beat dads in America already? I'm all with your idea if the man says he will take the child, otherwise, the fetus grows inside the woman, her choice.

The sole purpose of sex is to have babies? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA.
Utter nonsense.

We have enough problems right now without making people who are not ready to have children, have children.
You want to pay more to welfare. Of course you don't your probably a republican.
