Yep,,something seriously wrong with the GOP because they seem to be completely deaf to the American public for the past 6 years. case in point: never ending Iraq war. Even a rat knows to get out of a sinking ship. Bloomberg is doing what anyone with a half a brain would do. And Liberman never left the Democratic party.

This is about Bloomberg, not the GOP, and he has the problem, rather than the party. If he wants to leave, then he must have his reasons (his politics obviously do not line up with the Dems or the GOP). He thinks "the country is in trouble" not merely one party or the other. Frankly, the man seems a little confused and unsure of what he actually thinks, seeing as this is the 2nd time he's switched parties.

Lieberman left the Democrats. Is there something wrong with that party?

People change or leave their party for various reasons all the time.

Democrats are probably hoping he runs for president while Republicans hope he doesn't

Now there's a loaded question!

I would guess Mayor Bloomberg has the marbles, (and the cash), to call George out on the dissatisfaction of Republicans on his handling of domestic issues. By no means am I a backer of the Mayor, but I can truthfully say I can now "respectively" disagree with him.

Bloomberg was a life long Democrat. He just went under the Republican ticket to become mayor.

I'd say there's something wrong with both the GOP & Bloomberg. The GOP has abandoned its conservative roots and gone on a spending spree and Bloomberg never was a conservative.

nothing wrong with the republican party. bloomy was a democrat that couldn't win the mayoral race so to be mayor he dropped out of the democratic party in 2000 and now he can't win the republican nomination or the democratic nomination for pres if that is what he is lining up for his future. personally i think he ought to go back to private buisness where he came from now that he has screwed up new york city. one of his first acts as mayor was to raise property taxes 18%. if he would get to be pres how high would he raise taxes and with his liberal ideas how much stuff would he ban like trans fats and smoking i really don't need someone to tell me how to eat and how to live my life the way i want to. for him i say get the heck out of politics and leave people alone.

No. We barely knew his name anyway, seeing as how he only registered for the Republican party in order to fool NYC into voting him in as mayor. He was a democrat for many years, so this is good news for the GOP. Democrats will split their votes again, just like Nader / Gore.

I'd say there is something wrong with Bloomberg. He switched from Dem to GOP just before running for mayor. He doesn't know what he is.
